Enjoy your hollibobs MG - in the land of the Arran sweater:D

I was really shocked to see the weather forecast today and must admit I doubted mum when she said that it would snow this week. I felt sorry for her yesterday as the frost has damaged her red rhododendron which apparently looked stunning on Saturday yet was wrecked yesterday. So far the purple and the pink azaleas seem to be ok - fingers crossed they stay that way. Even the Chilean Trumpet Vine is thriving and flowering despite the weather.

Much fun had at Mum's yesterday and I came home with cakes, lamb steaks and a cottage pie. I have a plan for the lamb steaks as I have some wonderful lamb stock in the freezer so one night I will have a lamb stew. We noticed that a lot of the petrol stations by her were closed and that the price of petrol has rocketed to £1.419 for a litre of unleaded.

Still no news on the house and I know that Mum's solicitor is getting frustrated with their solicitor (their solicitor is not very experienced in conveyancing or handling anything remotely complicated). Our solicitor has asked for sight of the deeds and the transfer of sale document that they would have had from the council - all the executors will say is "they are at the house" - one of the executors lives in Stourbridge which is about 6 miles away from the house. The lazy mare should get herself over to the house to get the paperwork - we can't go because we don't have the keys:mad: We are also thinking that lots of people need to have a say in the house sale because the house may have been left to various nieces and nephews who all have to have an input hence the long drawn out process. They have acknowledged the letter about the carpets however no comment has been made as yet - another long winded and expensive process to get an answer.

All poorlies feeling better, well at least not being sick or anything else, but feel like I've done ten rounds with a herd of elephants so going to do 15 mins on and off throughout the day but no hurry to get anything done tbh. Has taken me a lot of years to realise that if my body says ouch then it needs time to recover - and today it is saying ouch and I am listening to it.

Have a fab holiday MG, and hope the weather man is dreadfully wrong for us all.

Good luck with the interview pshyco and cool start to the new life Crickett, Dotty looks gorgeous.

Dora - I think there is a tummy bug doing the rounds as I was feeling a bit gippy last week and ended up buying a packet of Arrowroot biscuits which seemed to settle my tum.

I have done some jobs this morning - putting washing up away, doing more washing up and washing my smalls and other little bits.

I have other stuff to do.

On Saturday I made 36 fairy cakes, 12 are lemon and the other 24 DD iced in all different colours and added a mini egg.

I also made some chocolate crunch and we had some of it with chocolate custard - mmm reminded me of school dinners :T

Will be making some quiche today - likely to be cheese and onion and bacon.

By co-incidence in my Sunday magazine they had a recipe for macaroons so hopefully there will be some of them as well.

I am going to try and use up all my baking ingredients over the next 2 weeks - I have booked 2 weeks off work to be with the children for a change - some of the ingredients have been open for a long time such as demerera and light brown sugar so will use these in biscuits starting with MG's cookie recipe on the blog.

May be calling in for support this week as DH's depression is very bad and it is all related to his job, I think he should get signed off by the doctor and then look for work while off sick so at least we have an income but DH thinks he should just hand in his notice
I am worried he won't get another job, he is a very hard worker but since he got ill last January and is still not right his memory is not up to much and I am worried he will be difficult to train and also we have quite regular hospital appts and the new consultant wants to change his medication and last time this happened he was ill for a long time and not fit to work.

I wish we could afford for him to just give up work but we can't at the moment.
