MrsMoo don't worry, I wasn't offended, just wanted to say that caring for someone (whether a child or anyone else) is not the same as having time to yourself. I have a whole new admiration now for those people who provide full time care for an elderly or disabled person of any age.
Tenmah, if you open an ISA one year and pay in, say £3,000, then the next tax year you find a different ISA provider that pays a better rate, if they allow transfers you can pay in up to the maximum for the year (which is £5, 340) and get tax free interest on that, and you can transfer in your existing £3k from the previous year and get tax-free interest on that as well. If you withdraw the money from the first ISA, then you can pay it into a new one but you can only pay in up to the maximum for the year, so only the £5,340 but not the £3k as well. Does that make sense? If you only put in a few hundred a year anyway then you won't go over the yearly limit so it doesn't much matter which way you do it. Hope that helps!0 -
You are right - no SENCO posts up here. Actually had a pretty productive meeting with the Head and his class Teacher (remember its a teeny school so they are getting to know him pretty well)
But the Ed Psych is the "gateway" to identifying help for next school move so I still think it is worth chasing her today. Will let you know how I get on.
Now - must go and find out what the weather is going to be today to see if I can get my fence panels painted and then a tidy up. I have a visitor coming on Friday and the house looks like a bomb has hit it with all the DIY projects. Clean, tidy or finished - may have to focus on just two of these three. LOL

Talking of bomb sites - I have one here too - and added to that, it stinks!! I woke at 3.00am with the stench of tom cat wafting through the house. It seems the local tom has found the cat flap. No point swapping it for a magnetic (mognetic?) one with the house move so imminent, so I've locked it and will set up a litter tray indoors before I leave for work. Maybe no bad thing to get my cat used to it, as she will be an indoors cat for the first few weeks, and maybe a bit longer whilst the nearby houses are being built. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Urgh! to boy cat smells!!!
Just got DS2 from playgroup - its chilly outside but not damp so am brewing a cup of tea and these fences WILL get painted today, by hook or by crook.
Desk is drying after its last coat of eggshell - but is still in its component parts so will need to put the electric screwdriver on charge.
I have decided the coffee table top isn't up to being stripped - but I have another plan for the top that involves an old book of poetry and a dribble of varnish that I have left.
Spring has sprung and I feel like "doing" again LOL

Afternoon ladies (& gents).
So far I have had a lovely day - first a trip to Aldi as I wanted to replenish my store cupboard and I was in desperate need for butter and milk as well as fresh veg. I also got myself a new mattress protector (I have been looking for a decent one for a while now) and a couple of door wedges (it would have been a door stop but it was too heavy - wimp). Has anyone tried their shampoo before? If so, what was it like? I have now completely run out of my old shampoo (not even a scraping left in the bottle) and as my old shampoo cost £14:eek: I got some of Aldi's own to try it. There is no way I am spending silly money on shampoo again.
The stress of shopping made me sit on the sofa to watch the Queen this morning - how I love the pomp and circumstance of state occasions.
Don't need to cook tonight as I am off out - no cost to me:cool: Feeling a lot perkier - not sure if it is the change in season or the fact that I am feeling a bit more confident in myself. I am visualising myself in the union job (well, it worked for the house) and today I have received an acknowledgement about an Office Manager post that I applied for, I am to expect a pre-interview phone call later this week.
I have found a home for my old books - I give them to dad as he sits in the chair all day reading or watching the telly because he doesnt have the energy to do anything else. I dragged out my huge RHS book of plants the other day as well and I have been looking in it, trying to identify a small plant that is in the front garden of the house.
Hope everyone has a lovely day - the sun is out here and it is glorious.0 -
Horace: Being an Aldi fan, I haven't yet used their shampoo but everything else I have used has been as good as if not better than named brands.Their dishwasher tablets are better than Finish, their facial wipes excellent (i am ultra sensitive to everything) and their balm tissues are brilliant.

I use their 59p shampoo and it depends on which one you get. The 'nourishing' type ones don't seem to rinse out very well IMHO but I've got one that's for normal hair and it's fine. Doesn't leave my hair particularly glossy but doesn't irritate my scalp - I often get dandruff after using other cheap shampoos and this is OKIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Thanks for all your thoughts on Friday unfortunately OH didn't get the job he went for. I think he was expecting it to be more high powered than it was. The JD was written in quite complicated language and had lots of, new to him, jargon. We researched all that on the web and he swotted up but they didn't ask one question about any of that! Also he had a three hour journey and they were running late and kept him waiitng 40 mins with no apology and not even the offer of a glass of water. He wasn't very impressed but has put it down to experience and is going to keep looking.
Agree on tom cat smells years ago my flat mate put a tent up in the back garden to let it air - it needed even more airing after the local tom sprayed in it, yeuch :eek:0 -

Shampoo is good and the body wash divine.

I got the herbal normal one - it smells fine and seems to work ok although my hair feels like a bush now (partly due to how I dried it and partly due to it being really dry and no longer shiny:() Mind you my hair needs cutting again and it needs a whizz with the colour - must book an appointment at the college:D Thanks also for the tip about their facial wipes - not tried them yet but do have Lacura handcream for nails and hands which seems ok but I need to use it sparingly as it rather greasy at first.
Aldi have an offer on large british fresh chickens at the mo - they are £3.49 and their small ones are £2.49 - thought this might help someone.
I am looking forward to going out tonight - it is club night and we are having a speaker who is a herbalist, so it is a two course dinner with coffee & mints tonight (we normally charge £10 but as they know I am skint and I do a lot of work for them then I don't need to pay:cool:). Which reminds me, I haven't done the minutes from the last meeting yet - not that we had much to say.0
