Have opened the windows to let the germs out. Need to summon up the energy to have a shower, as being clean might help. Also need to organise more water and more painkillers at some point. And possibly more jelly. I didn't think I'd get through all the stuff OH had bought, but if this carries on it looks like I'll need more nursery food.

Aim for today is to try to find the energy to get some laundry done. At least then I'll feel I'm achieving something. I'm dreading the backlog that is building up.

Aww Crickett (((((((Huge HUGS)))))))) It's not a nice feeling for the office to be difficult. Do you have a few days off you could take? Ultimately you know you'd like to move, so you need to find little things to get you through until the next opportunities come up. Even little nice things like weekend breaks, holidays, special days out, nice meals.

You're practiced and ready for the next interview now. Did you ask for some feedback from the previous one? That might be helpful. The course I just did that Cherisong recommended Springboard might be interesting. It's all about re-assessing your values, setting your goals and addressing any areas that might be troubling you. It's not an easy course as it requires some introspection, but ultimately I think it is a big confidence boost. And there's a lot of practical material on changing jobs, being assertive, presenting yourself in the best way etc.

February has been absolutely rubbish for me. I am ready for a new start too in March - clean slate and spring in the air. Just a few days left. In exciting news I'm heading up to Uni in Lancaster for a course on Weds and I'm going to visit this fabric factory shops to get some lovely fabric to start quilting. Yay! :j Got to order the replacement slats for the sofa bed today too - two are broken.

I want all you ladies to share this - Seth Godins latest brilliant manifesto at

    "132.What we teach
When we teach a child to make good decisions, we benefit from a lifetime of good decisions.

When we teach a child to love to learn, the amount of learning will become
    limitless.
When we teach a child to deal with a changing world, she will never become
    obsolete.
When we are brave enough to teach a child to question authority, even ours, we
insulate ourselves from those who would use their authority to work against each

And when we give students the desire to make things, even choices, we create a
    world filled with makers.

  • Thanks MG, it looks really interesting, I'll have a good look at that later.

Hugs to the poorlies, and to Crickett. I hope a suitable job where you'll feel happy and fulfilled will come along soon. In the meantime, the best counterbalance is to keep swimming and doing lots of other things in your personal life which make you truly relaxed and happy.

Lara, I hope your grandmother is making progress, and that you enjoy your course and the trip to the fabric shop - I hope you're spoiled for choice! The choice of fabric is such a huge part of the project, such an opportunity to let loose your creativity. Have fun!

It seems that the other 2 lots of people involved in my house moving triad would like to move on 27 April. This is within the time frame set by the construction company, so I'm happy to go with it. Nice to know what the countdown is! :j:j

I'm going back for another look tomorrow, not inside the house as it's the sales person's day off, but to show a friend where I'll be. I know I'm really fortunate to have sold, particularly as my cousins who are selling my late aunt's house, which is lovely, haven't had one single viewer in the 6 months it has been on the market. That's in North Yorkshire.

No surprises what I'm doing today - more stuff to the charity shop! :rotfl::rotfl:And I'm handing some guarantees and the title deeds into the solicitors. Oh Happy Day! Great song - enjoy ;)

    Hugs to the poorlies.

Didnt do much yesterday - did read a book and watch the rugby but can't remember doing anything else.:( Ate well last night - I had a sirloin steak (it was 30% off in Aldi the other week) with some mash, peas and gravy.

I had to go to the bank this morning to pay in my HB cheque so took the time to mooch in the charity shop (I didnt buy anything) nor did I buy anything in the paper shop although I was tempted by a large bar of Aero, I managed to resist it. I did, however, go and look at the house and got a little thrill from seeing the sold board up:D

I have completed my divorce papers but will get my lawyer friend to look over them. I have highlighted that I have been locked out of the marital home (he changed the locks on me so I cannot get in).

I rang the eye hospital too and made an appointment for tomorrow to go and collect my new glasses - at least then I will be able to see to drive and I will be able to read - the wearing of the new specs starts on Wednesday.

In other news, I spent £1.91 on a polishing cloth from the local car spares place (forgetting that it is a trade place as was therefore subject to VAT so price on shelf different to till price). The cloth will be used for applying meths to my windscreen both inside and out as it is covered with greasy marks that I cannot shift.

I am half way through the application form - I feel that I am writing a load of old tosh and that whatever I put won't be good enough (silly Horace)...the closing date is tomorrow at 5pm.

Well I didnt get the job althougth I was their 'second choice'! Person doing the job in an 'acting' capacity was appointed - I wish they would just appoint these people officially if they think they are doing a good enough job - would save a lot of time money and hassle! Anyway I did get some favourable comments which has been good for the confidence - so onwards and upwards and next time I had better make sure I am their first choice ;)

With my tongue firmly in my cheek - can I suggest this might be appropriate :rotfl::rotfl:

You know I'm kidding - right?

Sorry to hear about all the jobs - I have started the process to look for "joint venture" partners for some projects I have in my book -scary step though.
