You were hospitalised with apendicitis last year also MG, your lovely Mum came in here and let us know and kept us posted as to how you were :)

That's true - managed to wipe that hospital stay completely from my mind, mind it it was lovely neighbour doc that phoned her for me ................... I thought I had gastro LOL

HATE hospitals, that's why DS2 was born at home.

Still I've had a very lucky 11 years - long may it continue

I've just read about that and came back on here to ask if anyone had heard of it...it must be ESP :p Thank you for that!

Regardless of the infection, I need to seek out ways of easing the dryness and consequential itchiness of his skin. I don't want to have to change his diet unless all else has failed.

Hopeful, my DH was suggested trying chickweed by Holland Barrett for his Psoriasis, it worked, until they stopped selling it!

The woman I spoke to suggested that he needs to take fish oils and ensure he eats oily fish during the week, she said this will stop the skin drying out and getting itchy.

Is it worth trying your DS on something similiar? Make sure he has oily fish 2/3 times a week, and maybe children's fish oils?

    :j Congratulations Groatie :j

I am so pleased to hear both your pieces of good news! It is so exciting to look forward to life in your new house. Good to have a little buffer too. Hope we can see some pics of the new place sometime!

Keebs - congrats to you too!! Wonderful to hear your story, keep posting!

Greenbee - Hugs, sounds like you have a horrible dose. Hope you're feeling better soon.

    Hugs to all.

  • Thanks Lara for your good wishes!

I'm still thrilled, and just so relieved things are moving on. The new house is tiny (so it won't cost much to heat, specially as I'm mid-terrace), but it will be perfect for my needs. The move will initially be traumatic for the cat, who has a lovely life here with free access to the outside. It's not possible to put in a cat flap in the new house (sliding patio doors in the kitchen). I'll make a cat hilton for her in the garden lean-to, when it's built, with cat flap access into it and a cosy nest so she can keep out of the cold and damp.

I'm looking forward to growing things in pots (salad veg, fruit etc) in the wee back garden, so the aim is easy, enjoyable and edible gardening. An April move would still give me time to get started with salad stuff.

Today I've made a start on clearing out the food cupboards - cue lots of finishing off current supplies and eating freezer contents over the next few weeks. This should keep the food bill down, and I'll build up a smaller stock cupboard once I've moved. Storage is limited but where there's a will there's a way!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

OK Food parcels for House-warming might not be appropriate LOL

Spent a couple of hours in bed this afternoon - snuggled up with the next book I have to Mind Map - not many jobs I know you can literally do from your bed .................... bad news is this bug is brewing, Yuck!!

Off to do the ritual, mucking out, sheep dip, de-horning, dosing and feeding (tidying rooms, baths, nail-clipping, cough medicine and dinner) that makes a Sunday evening chez MFinthree - thought I left that behind when we left the farm LOL

oopsy fell asleep while 'tidying' bedroom, and then kids woke me up with the chinese menu so have had to succumb to crispy duck for tea - ho hum, but it was gorgeous:)

Am giving up on today very early tonight and rebooting me ready for the next few weeks of madness at home and work.
