  • Hullo Matrix and Hello Keebs! :)

Unfortunately I did not get the job I was interviewed for. :( I was thoroughly disappointed yesterday, and still feel a bit bleak today to be honest. However, I am sure there is a good reason for it not to have happened the way I wanted it, and i am waiting for the Universe to tell me. I will admit to not waiting patiently, but waiting nevertheless!! :)

I am not feeling great at the moment. Headache, general ennui, lurking sore throat, so I am curled up on the sofa with a cat and my knitting (and my laptop, of course!) and I am half watching the rugby.

Glad to hear of everyone's good news. Lots of love to one and all. See ya round!

Crickett - don't beat yourself up over the job - think of it as their loss not your's.

I have started chewing a frog - I have been hanging on to an application form since Monday (the closing date is this Monday) and I have started completing it although I am taking a break at the moment because I am having to squint at the application form (got the paper version as the online one is diabolical). I have picked up the divorce papers again trying to work out what else they need - it seems they need a date of separation when there wasn't really one, I just walked out although did visit home occasionally until last year when I was locked out:mad: Made a discovery today - I picked up a free paper from the doorstep and had a look at houses, there is a house for sale in the road I used to live in with him that I am getting divorced from, if the house was done up then it would be worth around £115K which isnt a bad return considering he paid £17500 for it:)

Must visit the other side as I haven't done so since last week.

Crickett - remember all of this is part of the journey to finding the right job. The experience you had is going to come in useful at some point! Keep going, and it will happen!

I seem to be generating far too much food... 2 pts of chicken stock (which will last me 4 days minimum) decanted. Bones stripped, and enough chicken for a decent risotto for 4 (not that anyone is going to want to come over and eat with me...) and veg liquidised to make some fairly bland soup (which i will try tonight). Bones now on for a second boiling as I think the current lot is a bit too rich for me at the moment :o (or that could just be the antibiotics taking effect). So tomorrow I need to get as far asa the shed and put the vast quantities of fruit juice plus some of the excess away. If I can then start making pancakes whenever I'm bored, I should be ready for my delayed pancake party whenever it happens!

Plan for tonight, like yesterday, involves trying to keep myself occupied so I don't get to bed too early and end up lying there awake and coughing.
  • More good news to report :D:D:D Thanks for everyone's good wishes!

I've reserved the house I was after. :j:j:j

I negotiated a cashback of £7,000 which equates to 5.6% off the full price. Originally the deal was £5,000 plus white goods and carpets, but after a bit of discussion, and a couple of phone calls to get authorisation from his MD, the sales person and I shook hands on it.

My logic is I already have the white goods, and can choose the quality of carpet I would like rather than theirs. So going for the money made more sense - in my circumstances anyway. So I've recouped almost half of the 'loss' I made on the offer I accepted yesterday.

I still love the new area - probably will be moving in April - still to tie that down with the others in the chain - at least there's only 3 houses involved.

    Exciting times!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Been at uni all day and now Ofsted etc are over I finally feel like I can actually start doing some of the work needed for the course. Dh and I have also had a frank discussion about my need for time and space to do all my work so short term re-arrange the furniture and look at work/life balancing, long term possibly convert garage - so going to be on here for lots more money saving tips to start saving up.

I never found that knitting and cats mix terribly well:rotfl:
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
