Hello everyone, just popping out of lurkdom to say a huge thank you to everyone on this thread.
Having followed from the start I now find myself debt free :j and soon to be signing the missives on a house of my own :T. This I would have gotten without the inspiration I found here but there is more...
All through my adult life I assumed I would meet Mr right and together we would make the most fabulous kids. Well, alas, Mr Right is jolly tardy it seems (he's yet to make an appearance ) and after turning 36 (which everyone knows is too old for a first child!) I grieved for the children I would never have. It was a tough year for me but, thanks to lurking on this thread I began to think outside the box, consider how I could manifest my dreams by other means.
through this I found out about known sperm donors (men who donate their sperm for free, and are happy for the child to have some contact growing up but do not play a father role) this was perfect for me and after inteviewing a few candidates I found a lovely man with whom to concieve. We got lucky on the first attempt and I am now 20 weeks preggers :j:D
This is the most exciting and perfect thing I have ever done and I owe it all to you guys here.
So thank you, thank you, thank you matrix peeps.... you folks realy do change lives :T:T:T0 -

And I have my first open crocus of the year in my garden.:j

Spring is definitely in the air - I can smell it...we have the clocks going forward soon too...:D
Keebs - that is wonderful news - hope you will come and join in with us instead of lurking. The Matrixettes are wonderful, they gave me an enormous boost when I was feeling sorry for myself - I am slowly picking myself up and dusting myself off (there are days which are bad but I still get up). Here's to a brilliant 2012:j0 -
Oooo a new Matrix baby, and what a lovely story.
Horace is right, you mustn't lurk any more Keebs - join in, it's even better in the water than on the shore0 -
So 2 coffees later and I just had to polish off the biscotti, I am in a very positive frame of mind again. Doing a lot of thinking! I sense that other jobs will be along soon so, even though I am still hoping that this one will come up with the goods, if its not to be then there will be other opportunities that will lead who knows where................ now only a few weeks ago I could never have thought like that and its down to you lovely people hereBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Horace, I agree that magnolia can be boring but you can buy a huge tub for not much and it gives you a blank canvas to start from. Most of this house is neutral but with accent walls that mean I can make the odd tin of farrow & ball go a long way. It may be worth asking for paint on freegle, in Leicestershire we cannot bin or take to the tip half full paint tins.

Delurking to offer congratulations to Groatie Queen on the house sale and FW's DS1 on securing a job (and as she says "a proper job") and continuing to keep fingers crossed for Horace's house purchase.0

I had a thought as I was washing up (in the middle of a mega bake day to get prepped for school lunches)
That we have all been very gentle, very reserved and quite quiet at the beginning of this year .......... but look at all the projects that are about to come to fruition.
Baby's, jobs, careers, homes, love, blogs and businesses.
I thinks sometimes we go at things hammer and tongs and others we know that things have to come together in their own sweet time.
Does make me very happy though - makes me feel that together we do something quite worthwhile.
