Exciting times Triker :j
The chicken stock is looking good. I had a ladleful with a couple of teaspoons of sweetcorn for lunch and am waiting to see whether in was a good idea... OH is out for lunch (at my favourite pub - I didn't want to cancel either the pub or friend at the last minute), and will be picking up shopping on his way back. I have made the most of the couple of hours after medication to empty the dishwasher and tidy up a bit which makes me feel better. Starting to feel a bit tired now though... Might have a siesta seeing as OH has put clean sheets on my bed and made me have a bath and wash my hair. He's also told my mother there is no need for her to come down and fuss over me  although I don't see him making time for it between running around after his parents and kids this weekend0 -
Gently does it hon - and why not phone your Mum and say it would be lovely for her to visit if that's what you want.
Glad to hear he is being somewhat practical - I always feel better with clean hair and clean sheets.
I got me a fan greenbee:j - if you have the energy check out the comments on the post "Abracadabra! Do words really have power?" - made my day so it did.
Oops - haricot beans are ready to come out of the pressure cooker and into the tomato sauce - we are having HM Boston Baked beans on griddled polenta for tea .............. don't we sound ritzy :rotfl: But you will notice that they are all ingredients from the Armageddon Cupboard

Great news on the blog... You realise that now you are growing your audience you're going to have to commit to your publishing schedule
after all, it's a job like any other!
And no, I don't want my mum here fussing and getting in the way. OH has been great, but TBH I don't think I want him around all the time at the moment either. I don't want anyone to have to listen to me coughing and choking at night. It's not funny.
I do feel MUCH better now I, my sheets and the house are a bit cleaner and tidier. I know I can shove stuff in the dishwasher for the next few days rather than having germy stuff stack up on the side, and working through the washing will make me feel I'm not entirely unproductive.
Just need to get the hang of this 'rest' thing...0 -

Greenbee - sit on sofa with drinks close by, have a few magazines around in case you feel like reading and have the remote close by too so that you can channel hop to your heart's content. Rest is good.
Back from the dole office - it is getting busier in there although why I turned up at 14.15 when my appointment time is 14.50 I have no idea:o Still I received a tip off about a job that has only just been listed and therefore has no applicants. It only pays £15K but the way I view things is that I might be able to get WTC and it is more than dole money. I need a job (this isnt any old job, it is a job working in a relatively posh hotel in brum as a meetings & events co-ordinator).
Still have frogs to chomp on such my divorce papers (now I need someone to look over them) and my application for the college job - I am trying to think of the right words to put down to make me sound fab (hard to do when you feel like a wrung out dishrag:().
Might have more pancakes...0 -
............. more pancakes are always a good idea.
I have tested out my "Toffee Apple" recipe with DS2 - I feel a little sick now TBH. He however is playing with his mega-blocks in a sugar induced fug LOL.
Maybe a cuppa will put me right?

Igamogam, what happened next??! Been sending vibes all day.
Today I accepted an offer on my house. :j:j It was 6.5% below the asking price which I feel is passable in today's buyers' market. I count myself lucky to have only taken 9 months - I know people who have been trying to sell for much longer.
Tomorrow I and a friend are going to negotiate as good a deal as we can on the titchy wee new build 2 bed terrace I have had my eye on. There was just one left, but another has recently come back on the market, which is in a better position - thank you, Universe!
I'll let you know how I get on!
Hugs to the poorlies xoxIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Bloody Great news Groatie, so -
Time for a money-saving martini - only money-saving because unlike a bottle of wine you can have one glass and not the whole bottle.

If I keep adding water to my chicken stock as I take out what I use, will it keep going forever? It's pretty good, and I can't see myself eating the chicken any time soon,
Executive decision by my dad and OH means I've switched to the new antibiotics. My dad can't currently hear me on the phone, so I wasn't actually involved in the discussion. Let's hope they start working NOW!!!
Forcing myself to stay up and watch DVDs tonight. Last dose of painkillers at 10pm, and then hopefully I'll get a couple of hours sleep before my 6am dose. OH is off playing taxi for his kids, so at least I won't be keeping him awake.
ETA - fantastic news Groatie!!0 -
It's quite a relief actually, to have sold. I work in the charity sector, and have been a bit nervous about funding, which has been salami-sliced in the past two years, so downsizing makes sense to create a financial buffer.
Unfortunately booze is off limits MG, but a cuppa Earl Grey is brewing, and I'll be reckless and have a really full hot bath tonight - and keep topping it up! Going to my friend's for a celebration meal tomorrow night - she is an excellent cook, so yum yum!
How long do people keep bank statements for? I've got the past 6 years but maybe 2 is enough? If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
