i'm emailing my cv for another job vacancy, is it better to attach my covering letter as an additional attachment or just put it in the body of the email?

    Hi Scaredy

When my daughter recently applied for a job, she put her covering letter in the body of the email (and she got the job!!)

Wow a lot of good news today so will add own bit too - Ofsted now online and all good and church/school inspection today and outstandings/good all round so a very happy school and a very happy but tired Dora.

Am also a slightly less coughy Dora although it is still lingering I may try to drown it in alcohol over the weekend! Hope you are feeling better soon Greenbee - take it slowly while your body tells you too.

Huge congrats Dora on the inspection news :j :j

Fab news for all the job-hunters too! Igamogam sending much as good vibes your way. Also to Crickett and Scaredy Cat. Aesop so pleased for your friend.

Groatie - big fingers crossed those nice buyers make you a wonderful offer soon. Glad to hear the de-cluttering is still going strong.

I'm another advocate of "WWMG do?". Otherwise I certainly would not have laid my own beading in the kitchen, replaced the kitchen taps, knock up a whole range of delicious food like HM pizza, flatbreads etc. etc. etc. "Baby steps" is the other fantastic piece of advice I use all the time.

FW - glad to hear about your DS. That is wonderful news

Well I have managed to tidy and backup my computer and DH has re-installed it. So hopefully should be running very smoothly from now on! Otherwise things are a bit boring here. Hoping to shake it up a bit this weekend with a bit of ...... babysitting! :rotfl:

I have some wonderful news. Thank you all who were sending wishes to the Universe and prayers for DS1 He has a job; I mean a proper, career job with the Co-op financial services.

Waiting to hear the results from DS3 entry exam - he is getting a bit nervous.

huge congratulations to DS1  well done for all his hard work getting through.

Good luck to DS3 for his entry exam.
  • Thanks Lara, I'm in a conference all day tomorrow but my property manager knows she can text me, so the mobile phone which is PAYG has had £10 credit put on it tonight and is on charge - now is not the time to be running out of credit or juice!

Excellent news FW, it is so good to hear of a youngster getting a good start, and so good for his morale and a real cause for family celebration.

Great news Dora, and Igamogam, GOOD LUCK for tomorrow. Will send lots of supportive vibes your way at 10.30am.

Catching an early train so I had better scoot off to bed.

I have some wonderful news. Thank you all who were sending wishes to the Universe and prayers for DS1 - and the ones who replied to his post on my blog about being young and unemployed. He has a job; I mean a proper, career job with the Co-op financial services. He went through a very difficult and robust selection process - he took a test and scored over 70%; then two weeks course; then a day of tests, role play, interviews etc...This morning he got the call to offer him the job and is starting on March, 19th. We are very happy for him - he can finally start 'being' because there is something 'to do'.

FW: That's genuinely brilliant news - many congratulations to DS1! I hear that the Co-Op is very good to work for once you get in, so may this be the start of an amazing career for him! :j

Greenbee: get well soon. :( :grouphug: (sorry that hug is slightly dodgy - one of MSE's slight downfalls!)

I have been up since 4.30 am !!! Fretting over what to wear for interview - borrowed some shoes form a friend but they are just slightly too big and I didnt want to make an entrance toppling off them ! So been to T*sco and bought 2 pairs, tights, accessories and a smart black dress - all nerves!! Will probably take it all back ( except tights cos I really do need them. Wishing everybody a productive day, whatever their endeavours. Many thanks for all your kind thoughts :) I have decided what will be will be and feel a lot calmer now.

Good luck Igamogam. Wish I'd known you were about as I could have done with some company. Around midnight I began to wonder whether I was going to manage to keep breathing all night, but eventually (after coughing up some very revolting stuff, including blood) found a position I could lie in and both breather and drink. Couldn't turn the light on and off, so it stayed on, but I think I might have slept, or at least dozed, for part of the time and was very reluctant to move at 6am, despite the headache being pretty insistent that I go and find some pills! So first dose of the day is done, and I'm going to attempt more jelly, then dioralyte and then hop OH wakes up early and manages to go shopping and get over here before he has to start work!

I have been dreaming about food - chicken soup and those crespollini (I always have those, and mushroom and ham ones for pancake day). I know I haven't a hope of getting the latter down, but I have got some chicken wings out of the freezer in the hope that I can eventually chuck all the bits in need in the SC and have some soup when I'm ready for it.

Sorry to be so miserable when there is all this positivity around... Keep the good news (and the funny stuff!) coming as you lot are my access to the outside world at the moment!
  • Good luck Igamagam, will be sending vibes this morning.

Well done to DS1 FW, that is great news.

Not posted much lately as not much going on here other than life in general. But as John Lennon said life is what happens while you are busy making other plans so not much to complain about there.

Great things going on in other parts of the Matrix, so life is good.
