Had a happy hour before picking up DS2 from the playgroup. Proper pot of coffee. my seed box and a pen and paper............. the design and planting plan for my new garden is shaping up nicely. Going to grow the stuff we love to eat (but is expensive -like bok choi and herbs, lots of green stuff for lunchtime salads and bits n bobs for preserving) Its a rough plan, but its a plan.

Ordered my books for the MM job - so there's another frog gone.

Now the big frog - choosing which challenge as my next Mfinthree challenge - Mmmmm. I know the "Pay Yourself First" is ongoing and automated, the "Rent a Room or Two" is plodding ahead subject to the carpenter popping back in, the "Book of the Month MM" books are on the way - so time to start casting around at which will be the next one up.

Decisions, decisions - pot of tea might help deliberations

Just sat back down..I had a massive dizzy spell so went and had a tablet, a mug of coffee and I put the telly on for a bit.

Hugs to those with lurgies - I have a slight sniffle and an irritating cough that appears and then disappears.

Couldnt get the niggling feeling out of my head that the court hadn't received my papers so I rang them this morning and was told that they hadn't which led to a panic of trying to locate them and ringing the registry office for a replacement to the tune of £9.25:mad: They are robdogs because if I had wanted the thing sent first class recorded then it would have cost £9 for the certificate and a whopping £5.50 for postage - I told them that they were thieves:mad: I duly paid £9.25.

On my way back from the college this morning (went to pick up an application form for a job in their personnel dept) I noticed that I had some post in box - mostly junk and a large brown envelope which I thought was a job but was in fact papers from the court including my marriage certificate.

It would appear that I did not complete certain parts of the form partly because I thought those bits related to using a solicitor and therefore were not relevant. They are also narky that the postal address of the respondent doesnt exactly match that on the marriage certificate (we always said bearwood smethwick not just smethwick because we lived in bearwood). Now I need to initial everything, I also need to state the exact date of separation - we never had an official separation, I just left around September 07 (can't remember the exact date). So I need to include the date, I have completed the bits they have said that I need to complete on the solicitor page and need to submit 3 copies not two - again this was me not understanding exactly what they wanted because I thought they needed a copy for the court and a copy for him.

Will have a look at the rest of the form later on - I keep going dizzy so won't but I do know that once it is done then I will physically take it to the court because I only need to hop on the bus.

I got my meths on Saturday along with a paint chart from the local hardware shop - I also made a list of what paint I need to get (all paint will be bought from B&Q with my 'free' vouchers). I got quite wet on Saturday and even the bottom of my leisure trousers were soaked (leisure trousers are for slobbing around the house in generally).

The house is being surveyed either today or tomorrow - the survey costs are around £400-500 but mum is using someone that she knows from the firm that handled the sale of my grandma's house when she passed away.

Now I need to land this job at the college - it would be a 20 minute walk to work but a walk is a walk and I am getting fat:D

Fab news on the forever home Kittikins..I am looking forward to the day when I have mine too. So far I keep thinking about paint colours and the garden.

Meh to forms and dopey court people - thankfully I have now cancelled the replacement marriage certificate. I am wondering why forms cannot be in plain english, why do they have to use flowery court language? I will have a look at the forms later because at the moment my head is woolly (it is always full of fluff:eek:) - I am also having difficulty understanding what it is they want...hence the need to sit and do it with a clear head.

Forgot to get meat out of the freezer again so dinner tonight will be reheated sausage casserole (I do live an exciting life...)

Must admit that when I got the meths on Saturday (for my windscreen) I did spend a little bit of time lingering in their gardening dept looking at seeds - looking at flower seeds because I quite fancy some aquilegias. I already have tons of vegetable seeds e.g. leeks, beetroot, carrots, baby cauliflower, salad leaves, tomatoes, more salad leaves, basil (lemon and italian), chives, thyme and other bits n bobs.

Lunch today will be a cheese bap.

Yesterday when DD and I were starting on her room, we came across a paint colour chart that DD had already marked up with her favourite colours for different rooms, bless her little chops! However, she's now decided she likes her existing new bedroom decoration - thank goodness as I have enough to spend my pennies on before doing decorating!! :)
  • Woohooo, Kittikins! So pleased for you!

Horace, what a lot of bother you're having getting official douments straightened out. I hope it's plain sailing from here on in.

You know those jobs you put off because they are biggies? In my case, the cupboard under the stairs :eek:. Well, I thought before I took the stuff to the auction house, dump etc, that I had better get rid of anything lurking in the furthest corners which is no longer useful ... so hauled everything out and there is now much less to go back in. :D:D

Sadly one of the casualties was my mother's old umbrella, finally gone beyond repair, and I had a wee weep when I put it in the bin. Of all the things I have parted with, that's the one which held the most emotional charge - battered and faded by the sun, it used to sit on the parcel shelf in her car. Just a tatty old umbrella, but it held a host of precious memories.

I also gutted a wicker box holding magazines etc which sits at the side of my sofa, and now just has my current knitting in it. The magazines etc have all gone to recycling (the local doctors surgery and hospital don't take magazines any more due to cross-infection issues).

A bit of positive property news here - an elderly couple want to view my house again. They have a note of interest for theirs already. Theirs has only been on the market 2 weeks, although they originally came to view this house last summer. So now it's time for me to stop hauling stuff out and tidy up instead! They will be coming later in the week, on my day off. Fingers crossed!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
