Lara - I have lots of work to catch up on too, as I had a busy morning planned and then ended up babysitting for my SIL which was MUCH more fun!

    Fab news Igamogam

I may have some of my own and I feel very scared but excited at the same time - scared that I may not be able to afford to live but excited that the little house might be mine soon. My parents went to see it today and found out that the gas boiler is 2 years old, the carpets are staying, the fuse box is illegal and needs to be replaced and there is a huge crack in an upstairs cupboard. It needs a lick of paint - all woodwork should be white, the kitchen needs the wallpaper to be removed and new added plus a lick of paint. They felt that I could make a lovely home out of it as some of the work is cosmetic e.g. lick of paint, new door handles (these are the originals from when the house was built). The agents must be desperate to sell as they were on the phone as soon as my parents walked into their own house but mum said that she was not in a position to make an offer there and then but was 95% sure that she would put in an offer. I have told her to put in an offer bearing in mind the fuse box etc so a silly offer is being made.

I am trying to find out gas costs - as I dont have gas where I am now (oh to be warm - I can't wait). I am scared stiff about living costs as told parents that I could afford it but now I am not so sure - either way I shall make damn sure that I can. All these applications must come to fruition and I have a plan to take the business forward.

I think I need to have a lie down now....

I am getting a free service and valet - the car not me :rotfl:

Oh I was about to say send me the number :rotfl:

Have been poorly over last couple of days. Headaches have meant I couldn't face looking at the laptop for long. My eldest did comment last night "You must be poorly, Mom, you can't even stand going on your laptop"! This morning's observation was "You're still not right are you? You haven't drunk any coffee"!! It seems my word is not enough bless him :D

The house looks like a bombsite. All I could manage last night was to cook for the boys, bath them and put them to bed! I went to bed at the same time only to be woken twice by the 'phone, once by a text and twice by both boys. There's no wonder I'm always tired :o Note to self: switch phones to silent!

Horace - how exciting about the house! I'm sure a job will come your way soon. Just in the short time I've been reading this thread you seem to have grown in confidence and definitely sound more up beat. Having a plan and something to work towards is something that helps to motivate me. I am hoping to see a solicitor next week re a divorce so I may be asking for tips! The ex keeps saying we need to get a divorce knowing I was not in a particular rush, but actually for various reasons I will probably be better off. He hasn't seen me get tough.....yet :)

So many people on this thread seem to have serious health concerns, but you are all so strong and positive. I find it quite amazing reading your posts.

MG - that meeting with your son sounds like one of those moments when you look at your children and feel like you're going to burst, you're that proud of them :A

Aesop - I really, really hope you can find a job. Working in an atmosphere like that is draining. People need to realise life's too short to be so bitter and nasty all the time. I feel sorry for them. Fingers crossed for a productive fortnight ;)

Horace, you know the drill, it's SOA time :)

Hope that you're feeling better Hopeful1, I hate headaches like that - do you have eye tests regularly?

I'm freezing but the thermostat says 22oC so I can't justify turning it up as that's not actually cold. Brrrrr though. Money becoming a big problem, as expected, so just trying to stay within the overdraft :(

I must admit, I do think I need an eye test. I can't remember the last time I had one done. Headaches over the last couple of days though have been linked to a tummy bug and tiredness I think. I am also a little churned up at the mo' because of some of ex's behaviour that is impacting on the eldest, so that's not helpful as it's affecting my sleep too.

Gas bills are shocking aren't they? I'm under my quilt so I can avoid putting the fire on!

I'm in bed to save heating the living room! I'm a bit worried as we are with EOn... :(

Boots often do eye tests for £5, the supermarkets are cheap too if one near you has a pharmacist
