Go Dora!!!! I know everyone is scrabbling around for money - but that is worthy of a call to "Watchdog".

Neighbour tucked in her daughters car and off to hospital for a visit. I went down an hour ago and told her she has 15 minutes to get ready and join us for breakfast - I think I am turning into my mother feeding everyone.

Got a meet at DS1 High School with Learning Support, Ed Psych and Form Teacher - and today a wonderful quote came across my desk

"Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not in fact surrounded by a**holes"

Do you think that is to much for a sticker on the front of his folder???

Meet is as ten - so will let you know how we get on.

Meantime - bleeding chilly (but still no snow) so off to throw a lunchtime soup into the slow-cooker as it may be a bit of a rush.

Oh!! and a quick check that everything is OK on the old internet banking stuff.

    TTFN

Well - I am so proud of DS1.

He walked into the meeting, shook everyone's hand and introduced himself clearly with a smile and loads of eye contact. (He is eleven BTW!)

He explained that he wanted help "figuring out the social side of school" and some strategies to help himself cope when kids were being mean.

Jaws dropped around the table I can tell you - he then blew the Ed Psych out of the water by teaching him an NLP spelling strategy in the break and by bringing his Head and I a cup of coffee from the coffee pot. He then chatted to the Ed Psych about V V Gogh's "Starry Night" which was on the wall(well not the real one obviously) and report was - far too much empathy for true Aspie, but perhaps some tendancies ...................... what have we been saying???? LOL

They were pretty impressed at his "adult" social skills - in fact his head of year did say if this was an interview for transition to Uni they would be saying,"no issues here" as his individual learning is AOK - just needs some help working with group dynamics.

So he / we have requested that he be given assistance in sequencing (his teachers being more systematic and step-by-step with their instructions until he learns what is expected of him)

Another meeting will happen soon - but at least they are seeing a boy who considers himself in equal partnership in his Education and not a troublemaker in the making. Whew!!!

But I am very proud of how he handled what could have been quite a stressful situation for him.

Good luck with the meeting MG - loving the quote too.

Dora - how about some money off and maybe a CD player for your car too? I remember when I had my car and the garage gave me 2 keys -one for the doors and the other for the ignition because they were too bone idle to have one key for everything despite my having the add on of factory fitted remote central locking. I kept trying to use the wrong key in my ignition and told the garage who asked that I take my keys in and they would remove the blade on the key trouble is they removed the blade from the ignition key so I was driven home to collect my spare keys because as a silly woman I didnt carry the spares with me:mad: I wrote an extremely strong letter to the owner of the garage and as a result I had a bunch of flowers and had a CD player fitted into my car by way of compensation for the inconvenience and the attitude of his service staff.

Still no joy with the compliance officer - probably trying to justify her job...sigh.

More jobs applied for - divorce papers sent off including a note for the judge. Yes, it is bitterly cold out as I have been to the post box.

More food for thought with regard to business too - business board rooms both mixed and women only, and austerity weddings but this will take some thought as I would expect to be paid commission by suppliers.

Spoke to mum last night - dad instructed her to ring me because he felt that I was not being serious about the house, I am worried that they are using their savings and won't have any cash themselves for emergencies. Mum said that they have that all worked out - I said that I loved the house, I had already placed my furniture in it and had made plans for the garden. I am also considering making plans for the larger shed and had planned on having electricity added and a modem so that I can turn it into an office.

Have ordered ink for my printer too as I have realised as I am coming to end of the black cartridge that I don't have any black ink. A quick visit to 7day shop has seen me buy a twin pack of re-manufactured ink for £6.99 as opposed to £9.99 for one genuine HP cartridge.

Still need to go shopping for bread although I do have a loaf that I could possibly bake at home. Might get soup out of the freezer for dinner - I have some posh New Covent Garden Winter Veg soup which was on BOGOFF in the autumn.

MG: Your neighbours are lucky to have you. I wish you were my neighbour! I do look out for my elderly neighbours but my younger ones are not very neighbourly.
I have just seen on the local news that an elderly lady fell in her home and was undiscovered for 24 hours - that appalled me.

Also very well done to DS1 - he's a charming young man.

Cross posting - well done MG's DS1 for showing them that he is not a troublesome child but a charming and intelligent young man.

I feel I must thank the Matrixettes for putting up with my moans and groans, my mojo is gradually returning and i am working on a new business plan and a slightly new business idea. I know it will work because I have done a similar event before and it worked really well - I just need to refine it and stop attracting riff raff who can't pay won't pay to serious people who can pay and will pay.:D Initially I would do two events a month both in the evening so that I can still get a daytime job to keep me out of mischief - one would be aimed purely at women (although personally I do not like women only events but I acknowledge that there is market for them) and one will be mixed and will probably more heavily weighted to the male side as this is what tends to happen with such events.

I feel as though I am getting back to my old self - slowly and surely. Still praying the universe will deliver a house though and I feel sure that it will. I also went out earlier and posted two applications and the divorce papers to the court so the wheels are now in motion for me to be single and happy instead of married and depressed.

Sure there may be times when I stumble and think that I am rubbish and useless but I know that with the support and friendship of the Matrixettes I can do anything:D

Well I have my old key fob back, but it is now working after the muppets put the battery back in the right way round (muppets is too good a word)

I am getting a free service and valet - the car not me :rotfl:and a very humble apology from service manager who has insisted I speak to him personally when booking it in for its service and not his useless staff, who were both unable to look me in the eye today - job done.

    Roll on half term now

Off to look at AF now thanks for the heads up MG

Got letter from consultant today - after I wrote to him and asked for results to be sent to me rather than me do a 200 mile roundtrip pay for carparking fees ( we dont have them in our hospitals here) and tolls and a day off work and a days AL for OH and only to be told nothing changed see you in 12 months and wasnt I just clogging up an appointment etc etc......................... well results all round he agreed that this was much better and the brain tumour has behaved itself and not changed. So dont need to think about that until next January :)
