Mixed sort of day. Went to physio and was discharged:j then to dentist for check up and ended up having tooth out:eek:. Tookbooks to local book exchange and came out £2.50 up - then of for a charity shop mooch. Bought 2 cream silk lampshades -exactly right size and shape for conservatory lamps for £6:jAlso bought my monthly treat, Prima magazine. Sat and read an atricle about acieving a homemade home simply - cushions at £30 each, lavender hearts £7 each etc started me thinking maybe this could be the start of another Matrix venture. I made 4 silk, sequined, appliqued cushions for £10 just before Christmas also made lavender bags for a big fat zero!:j
    Wrap up well everyone.

Oooh would love to see pics of your cushions Robsmum.

Huge hugs to Igamogam, Triker, Aesop and Girlwiththesuninherhead. It sounds like you're all having really tough times at work at the moment. Am thinking of you all and hoping that things really improve.

Horace, well done for all your Twitter wins :)

Groatie your day sounds lovely :D

Great news on the house Kittikins :j I hope you get that nice long sleep.

Well in-laws have arrived and been fed and watered. Now we're all tucked up in bed happy, even the cat :)

My supervision went well yesterday. I still have a lot to do, but perhaps am slightly further ahead than I thought. Great feedback from the PhD conference and the department have managed to 'find' some more money for any other events we might want to do!

Happy weekend all - hope the snow stays away.

Was it a big chain garage Dorastar? Sounds very similar to the sort of quote I once had for a car, £190 and it was sorted :)

Yes it was and I won't be going back - which is a shame for them since I bought my last car there and won't be buying my next one from them!

Struggling with mega-cold today, ds swimming, dd dancing, dh working till 10pm and dd has a friend coming to play and for tea when all I want to do is die under duvet:( Do not want snow to add to the mix

Dora I join you with the "dying under the duvet", I am down with the lurgy as well.

Luckily BF coming later so he will pick DD up from her day out with her dad. I have my acupuncture so hopefully will get some help and after that I know that I can just rest thanks to BF being here running the heard.

One other task for him is to separate the non fiction books from fiction. I am determined to get started on the fiction as soon as possible, the books must go. Oh and do you know if I can relist for free items that I initially listed on a free listing day?

I can't keep up with the thread but sending hugs and cheers where ever appropriate.

Have a good day and keep warm all with the lurgy/under the weather, give yourself plenty of tlc and rest.

    Get well soon, poorly peeps!

I'm glad you're going to have a little help, Marru, it makes all the difference when you're poorly sick sick :)
One step at a time ;)
  • Morning!

Oh how annoying - the little charger connector inside my mobile has snapped off. It's 21 months old, and the email that I am due for an upgrade arrived this week... but I was thinking that I might not bother... I quite like paying £15 a month :)

Ho hum, into town I go for a new phone... what shall I get ;)

I also thought about going to a craft show in Exeter today.... I still might, but I'd have to buy some petrol, and I am trying to force myself to use the bus this month due to holiday creditcard bill looming!

Sorry people are having a poop time... <<<hugs>>>

We're waitng to be told which people's jobs are at risk of redundancy at work. Agree that these are scary times :( Must keep loooking forward, and not let the uncertainty spoil things :)

    Enjoy Saturday all xx

Lurgy here too. Leicestershire libraries have a 'free' day (fine amnesty, free dvds and reservations) so I took the boys to get a rental dvd so they can watch films while I lie on the sofa and cough. I actually remembered to soak chickpeas and butter beans last night so they are cooking.

I got three veggie cook books out of the library so going to have a good read of those - some nice looking spicy lentil cake things that I quite fancy trying out.
