Hi all, it's been a while since I posted. I'm in abut of a predicament at the moment at work and, mentally, it's killing me. I have to be a different person in the office and very careful what I say due to my manager not being at all trustworthy and that means I am anxious and tense all day not being able to relax and be myself.
All I need is the strength to get through each day without losing my temper at the situation! Oh and not chucking anything at the two faced manager!!
On the outside I am calm, collected and ever the professional. On the inside I'm a mess of a machine with my tummy in knots and my mind working overtime.
I'm now relying on my bachs flower remedy mouth spray to calm and soothe!!
Happy Friday all!!

HOORAH!! The surveyor is now finally happy with the condition of my house as quelle surprise, despite a drainage person pumping 300 gallons of water at high pressure down the pipe he couldn't find a problem, so we are now good to go! I met the buyer and he seems rather nice and was as relieved as me that it's all ok and we can get ready to exchange
I'm so relieved I might even be able to sleep soundly tonight!0 -

I have decided I can no longer continue to work where I work, it is killing me, the people I work with are unreasonable. They don't stop moaning/complaining and we have all been told we are under threat of redundancy if we cannot get our business to work. It is a place that relies heavily on government funding. If we don't get it, there are no jobs.
so am going to take 2 weeks annual leave, and job hunt.0 -
Happy Belated Birthday Dora.
The way to deal with two faced bosses is to email them when they have asked you to do something just to confirm that you heard correctly, print off your email and their response and take them home. This will provide evidence for any subsequent grievance you may wish to raise.
Feeling rather chipper today despite it being -5. I received a parcel this morning from my local police. No it wasn't a set of fluffy handcuffs..(I know how your minds work:eek:) - they ran a competition on twitter during December to ask for crime prevention tips over the christmas period which they put onto their 'tree' on their website. My tip was one of those selected and they asked for my address so that they could send me a little something. Little something is relatively big:
usual crime prevention leaflets
a pen
a sticker for my house saying all items have been marked
anti tamper screws for my registration plates
an Eon shower save
a personal attack alarm
a UV marker pen
a wipe for my satnav
a pink microfibre cloth
a sticker for my car telling burglars that nothing of value is kept in the car
an air freshner for the car
a keyring
a personal attack alarm
and a shed alarm which includes batteries and is keypad operated.
Not bad for a tweet:cool:
The job hunt continues - was most miffed yesterday as I was asked invasive questions e.g. my religion and sexual orientation - now what bearing do they have on my ability to do my job? I have seen another job at a local museum but the salary is £14K so I would have to get working tax credits. It is easy to get to as I have a car and it is 7mins walk from the bus stop. It is a job as a Learning & Events Officer so I would be co-ordinating all the volunteers, booking events, booking learning events with schools etc. I can do everything on their job description and have pretty much all the desirables including 3 years' experience of working in a private museum (I knew all those weekends would come in handy one day:D).
Eyes are feeling a little more comfortable today - I realised that I have been suffering with this horrid blepharitis since Christmas Eve when I contracted eczema as I knew then that it had gone onto my eye:(
10cm of snow has been forecast for tomorrow - what's the betting we only get a sprinkling like we did on Tuesday. It is too cold to snow anyway it is currently -5 although I understand that on Sunday it could be +8:D0 -
Fab news on the house Kittikins. What a relief!
Aesop - I hope you can find a good job you will enjoy. Work takes up so much of our life, it's horrendous when it impacts so negatively. I hope you can find a solution too girlwiththesuninherhead.
I'm impressed with that little Police bundle, Horace. Though I don't think it would have harmed them to add a pair of fluffy handcuffsIt's very chilly here too, but from the cosiness of my settee it looks very lovely outside with blue sky and a little sunshine. It's a shame my toddler is ruining the ambience by banging toys loudly on his headboard in protest at being taken to bed for a nap :rotfl:

Thanks Aesop,
I work in the public sector and have raised a formal grievance against the aforementioned person. I received the report from my grievance earlier this work and it left me furious.
I am working on my response this afternoon but don't know how to deal with it. It's very complicated.
I decided to see this job through till June 2012 when I should have paid off my debt. Unfortunately due to the current awful situation I am unable to dedicate all of my previous cash to debt payment so that date has extended by about 3 months! Grrrrrr!!
Also my dad is rather poorly at the moment and I am accompanying him to hospital appointments as and when they come up (I work flexi so that's very handy for this kind of situation) I am not in a correct frame of mind to sit through interviews and also what prospective employer would allow me to go to rather a few hospital appointments over the next few months?
I am trying my hardest with the positive mental attitude although it does get rather difficult when he eats loudly, he absolutely stinks of old sweat today and he has mobile phone clicking with every character he uses.
I hope you find something really soon. In my dreams I would love to work for myself - I have numerous skills but whether they are moneyspinners I have no idea.
Try and take some time for yourself also during your annual leave.
Thanks again

Girl - maybe you should discuss business ideas over on The Matrix? Why not set up something whilst still in employment that way you can still be earning.
I had an interesting call earlier from Gateway Family Services whom my Health Trainer referred me to. They are going to come and see me later on in the month (not possible next week due to faffing with college). This is because I have never had help to cope with my disability at home so I have no idea what is available for me. They are also going to talk to me about work because they are in partnership with Remploy and Action for Blind People. Sometimes I feel a bit of a fraud because I can see out of one eye but I know that I find things more difficult than I care to admit.
In other news two more jobs applied for this afternoon - one a Conference & Banqueting Manager and the other is a Wedding & Special Events Manager at a 4* hotel in Solihull. I must admit that i vowed not to get involved with weddings but I have the qualification and the letters Dip.WP (Inst.WP) after my name so I may as well use them:D I can get to this venue by car and by catching the 49 bus (although this route is lengthy and it is like going on a magical mystery tour).
On Monday morning at 10am I have to be in college where no doubt they will teach me how to read and write and other gubbins:)
Am logging off now as it is dark and my eyes are paining me. Have a great weekend all.0 -
Car saga rolls on - apparently the fob wasn't working when they first moved the car :rotfl:That will presumably be in the same way the washers weren't working till I used them when they magically came back to life - in other words a whole load of ********. So not resolved and going to speak to manager on Monday to explain why calling your customers liars is not going to get you much custom. Meanwhile my car is now booked in for its service and MOT at a garage near work who have promised to 'get it through' its mOT without the laughable £1456.51 I was originally quoted!!!!
Sorry to hear things are a bit carp for people at the moment workwise and hope things sort themselves out soon.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
Emergency fund £1000/£1000
Savings for big things £90170 -
Was it a big chain garage Dorastar? Sounds very similar to the sort of quote I once had for a car, £190 and it was sortedNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130
