I know :( I've been a numpty in a way but it all seemed like it was going brilliantly until their surveyor starting being a silly boy....*sigh*. As I've said Friday night I'll need to stick to it, but if they don't call me today with a date/time for their drain person to come and check out the non-existent problem, then I'm going to tell the estate agent to start calling up the people they allegedly have on their list who are keen to view houses like mine and tell them to line them up for Saturday morning!

I would tell the agent before Friday that way you are covering your bases you never know you might get a better offer from someone else.

Its Wednesday now - if a EA agent phoned me TODAY for a Sat viewing I would be up for it - but to call on a Friday afternoon would seem a wee bit desperate.

Just give the EA a quick friendly call - say you feel that this is not going to progress so can they start marketing again. You can bet they will be straight on the phone to your buyers checking out whether they are about to bail or not asap ............... because they won't want to lose a commission. At least then you will know one way or another.

Its crap, and it's like poker - but you can be calm and shrug your shoulders and say to the EA - Ok! who's next?

Just had a call from the EA to say that the surveyor and another drains specialist organised by the buyers will be coming on Friday morning, and if (or WHEN) they are happy that the inspection shows nothing wrong, the buyers will be instructing their solicitor to exchange. Phew! I'm going to arrange to be there to see exactly what they do so I can see if there is a problem and the agent knows that between now and then, I'm going to be tidying up and getting the place ready for fresh viewings next week. TBH, even if there is a problem such as the pipe needing replacing, I'm not dropping the price for a small job like that, so this really is a futile exercise on the part of the buyers.....ho hum.

The agent is very aware and has made the buyers aware that they have until Friday to sort this out or else I'm walking away and re-marketing to people who aren't prima donnas!

The agents didn't even have time to get the details fully prepared for my house when it was first on the market, it never made the websites, the buyers were just so keen that they came to view on the basis of the floor plan and pictures of the neighbour's house that had just sold with the same agents!

Tee hee, one step ahead, I have a lemon drizzle cake in reserve, baked this morning when I was feeling grumpy, grouchy and unable to sleep :) But maybe Twinks would be better at that time of day, hmm, any excuse to get baking :)

I've also asked OH if his surveyor BIL might be able to pop over that morning (fingers, toes and other bits crossed) to lend some weight to the situation. He is a very big cheese in the local and actually probably national surveying world, so maybe the sight of him or the mention of his name might send the other surveyor scurrying away in fear at the thought of the mighty man himself! I can but hope...

Marru, hope you are feeling better today. You don't beat DD, you gave her a tap. DS fell down the stairs 2 yrs ago and broke his arm. I felt guilty about that as you do, why wasn't I there. Could I have stopped him, etc. I had calls from child services. They.just wanted to give advice on how to prevent accidents at home and make sure ds was ok. Shame they didn't help baby P. Hugs

My DD broke her arm 3 times in 1 year - did Social Services contact me? - did they heck!

I was actually really annoyed as I had just done safeguardng relating to my job so knew they would have been informed.

I am always making safeguarding reports to them so maybe they thought my DD was ok :rotfl:
  • I'm back :(

Had an "interesting" time... the place was full of old grannies (which is fine, if you are one).

Malta's a bizarre place, not sure if i liked it or not...

... was a week off work though. Lovely :) Will read back over the posts at work tomorrow :) xxx

In the process of doing two applications for a local college - not the gold palace up the road but somewhere a little further afield. Have realised that I have forgotten to take my lunchtime eye drops and now my eyes feel like sandpaper so I will have to switch off the computer in a while and go and have a lie down.

I might be getting some temp work from the agency too as well as them looking for full time work. I saw a job that I thought would be ace but it seems they are looking for aggressive sales staff - aggressive is not really what is required in the events industry and I must admit that when I am cold called by such people I note down who they work for and vow never to use their services.
