Just caught up with an old mate - turns out he is now an Olympic Coach - woohooo!!! Nothing exciting (unless we win Gold that is) - but he works with the shooting team.
Just fed the boys leftover Haggis pies and mincemeat slices for dinner -nice easy tea.
Off to do a coaching call with one of he mentors - yup!! I am teaching HIM how to do something for a change LOL.
Keep warm ladies - its shaping up to be a chilly one

They just need to fill in forms and tick some boxes and TBH you would need to be a Junkie / alcoholic / lady of the night / moving "uncles" in and out every five minutes / keeping DS from school / not feeding or cleaning her/ not paying your bills/ moving house every few weeks and be a habitual shop-lifter before they will seriously consider taking her from her Mum................... and even then they will do everything to maintain the status quo.
So you are not? are you? So pot of tea and a dippy biscuit love.

Oooh - you do make it sound attractive. Quite far from a nine to half five days of an accountant.
It just infuriates me as what he is doing is so subtle that DD can't say what is going on and then I get pointed the finger at. I feel like a criminal and I can't even remember when it happened last time that she was in such a tantrum that slight tap (not even close to reddening the skin) got her out of the worst of it.
Anyhoo - I shall be putting my "Bad Mummy" hat on for the rest of the evening.
Thank you so much all"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Marru, I agree with all the others.
I read a Social Services report the other day and the mother (my client) had actually contacted SS herself to say she could not cope with the children and had smacked them a few times.
All that happened was that she got loads of support from all sorts of services and has been on parental courses etc.
They will be able to tell that you are a normal mother using a smack as a last resort.
Also do not mention ending your life to any professionals unless you actually need help to prevent it, it can be used against you.0 -
Hi Marru, sorry to hear you're going through such a stressful time. Take that 'Bad Mummy' hat off though. Try not to be too hard on yourself. It seems you need to be strong in a very difficult situation. I hope that it doesn't take too long to resolve. One step at a time0

In that case, I wonder whether I know him too (unless the shooting connection is a very new one for him...)
Went to a fantastic CV and image workshop tonight. I now need to put the lessons I learnt into action. As soon as I have done enough work to stop feeling guilty, I will be updating my CV and linkedin further, and having a very thorough inspection and organisation of my wardrobe :cool:0 -
Morning All
Just poking my head around the door although I always read.
Aesop - you need to tell your dentist you are in constant pain from your other tooth and that needs dealing with now - ring up for an emergency appointment - tell them that it's now keeping you awake at night.
Hugs Marru - just listen to everyone's advice and don't panic.

Morning everybody! I've woken up with the grumps today! I'm hoping it's just down to it being that time of month. This thread title seems appropriate. I'm hoping a big cup of coffee will indeed 're-wire' my thought processes and get me through what is destined to be a long day anyway!
Ok, that's enough grumping - have a good day everyoneOne step at a time0 -
Hope you feel better after coffee Hopeful
I've put a load of washing on, had breakfast, realised I haven't paid the electrician from last weekand mixed up another batch of porridge/muesli base. There were hardly any oats, so it is mostly barley, wheat and buckwheat flakes, but I'm trying to work my way through my cupboard and freezer stocks now, so I'm not about to rush out just for oats (although I will need to get rice milk as I'm not making porridge with water, despite what all the scots will say!). I need to do a proper audit of my cupboards and a long-term meal plan... which I keep putting off. However, with the spare room flooring work booked in for a week and a half's time, I'll have to be in all day so this will be a good time to get it done (if it is gardening weather I will alternate...) and if I've run down the freezers enough to defrost them, I can batch cook some soups etc for the next few months.
Today I have to catch up on work, and focus on getting my study tidy as the clutter is starting to be oppressive. All the shredding I have done should have made a little more space, and I need to line up the next lot of shredding! But first I need to set of the DW, draw the curtains and head off for my morning walk to burn off a few of the excess pounds!0
