Matrix Matches - gotta ring to it.;)

Goodness though - you lot would give my Jewish Aunties a run for their money:rotfl:

Kids loved their Chinese, in honour of it being the Year of the Dragon - do you hear that Dragon love - this is YOUR YEAR:T:T

Now I am going to put the wee one to bed and take my kindle off for a snuggle as I am freezing (not that it's cold in here but I have that " will never be warm again feeling" IYSWIM)

Shame I am actually a Snake according to the Chinese calendar :rotfl:

  • ... but apparently it's a good year for Snakes .... and Rats....

".... Those born in the year of the snake and the year of the rat will also be lucky in 2012 as they are compatible with the dragon. So if they need to start new ventures, 2012 is the right year to start them."

Thanks for the link Ellidee, interesting ideas. Especially cause 4, antibiotics, I was on them solidly for around eight months when they thought I had tonsilitus/strep/glandular fever... but I've had several courses of probiotics since.
IBS is just their go to diagnosis when they don't know, even the gastro specialist admitted that to me and the allergy specialist. I think a lot of it is linked to the nerve damage I have but they never bother exploring any of it.

As somebody who has had IBS on and off over the years I sympathise with you. Mine was I am sure due to an intolerance to ABs which was set up when I had chronic tonsillitis. I am better now at knowing what will upset me and know that stress definitely can trigger a bout. Foods not good for me are bananas, bread, oranges, apples, onions of all sorts, cabbage, beans. When well I can tolerate them in small amounts. I found the Eat right for your type books really helpful. Fruit is often a problem for people because if ferments in the bowel providing lots of gas and food for the bacteria (not the friendly sort). If you are not happy with your diagnosis thought I really would recommend you go back to the GP.

Feeling very melancholy as a local family who we are friends with have had some terrible news in that their son has been seriously injured when hit by a taxi. I don't know much more other than he has sustained brain injuries. It really puts things into perspective and makes you realise just how precious life and loved ones are.

I'm swinging between 'go out there and live every minute' to 'fear of everything known and unknown to man'

Would you be able to share the info for this MG please, as it would be really useful for my daughter who has learning/memory issues due to her chromosome defect ?

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Gemmzie - I hope it gets better soon :)

Horace that is just fantastic news about the job interview :j Totally rooting for you!

A late start for me - got up late and made pancakes. But I have been thinking about work, I promise. Got to re-write 2000 words of the essay today before I leave for Capital reading group at 4pm. I didn't do my homework though, whoops!

Hugs to the MG clan, I got the cold on the weekend too, but it seems to be almost gone now. I hope it's just a mini-blip.

    Morning all

Sorry that folks are full of cold - chicken soup, chicken soup and more chicken soup. 3000mg of Vit C and a zinc tablet is what is needed.

Got up a bit later than normal today - so far have done a load of washing up and got disturbed by my mobile ringing but as I was up to my armpits in hotwater then I missed the call. I rang back to find it was the training company where I did my food hygiene cert and they were enquiring about work and wny I had stopped attending. I explained that they stopped issuing bus tickets and as my income is so low that I could not afford to pay £3.60 per day and then make a special trip into the city centre on a Friday morning to get a refund - the chap agreed that it was nonsensical and could see why I had stopped going. I enquired after my food hygiene cert as I have not received it and he gave me the number of the bham office - rang them (hated being left hanging on the phone - extremely poor show by the receptionist) eventually managed to speak to someone who said that the certificate hadn't arrived and they don't send out in the post. Enquired about exam and was told it still hadn't been cleared - who knows if that will ever take place.

Had a brilliant idea this morning - remembered my FSB membership and how I have access to a 24hr legal helpline - I shall ring today and see what advice I can get because I feel sure I can get advice on anything and not just employment matters.

Weather here is pants and it is cold today - tonight's dinner will be chicken breast with mash & veg...or I might be forced to have lettuce again (I am not particularly keen on lettuce although I will eat it).
