Gemmzie - you really do need some answers. IBS is a symptom, not the problem. IBD in it's various guises is stuff like crohns, coeliac disease, ulcerative colitis etc which they have actually identified a cause for. IBS is the ME of the gut world, and as prone to myths and rumours.

There are definitely some fruit drinks that don't have milk in them - high calorie fake fruit juice as my mum has them when she couldn't eat a few years ago. Personally I thought they were vile but because she was so unwell and couldn't eat they seemed to be OK. I think they also adapt the flavours to work for people who have veryblittle appetite.

Weight has gone in the wrong direction this week :( need to focus more this week...

Better get on and go for my walk, and then remember so shower and scrub my teeth thoroughly as I have a dentist appointment later...

MG - I can feel a book coming up there. We would all like to know how to do that with our kids. And then extend it to maths and so on. Perhaps an email course available in MFi3?

Off to Cafcass soon with DD, wish me luck...:(

Well the start of a new working week for me, and the last one before my eek deadline next Monday. The good news is I will get a few days off then. I've got a horrible cold, have been a dripping tap all weekend. Yuck!

I made two huge loaves yesterday and they turned out amazingly well. Usually they come out Frisby-style. I can highly recommend the River Cottage Bread Handbook - best book on bread I've ever seen.

Book club tonight for me - yay!

Marru - really thinking of you today :)

MG - your spelling coaching for DS sounds fab.

    Good morning ladies.

I will be thinking of you today Marru - good luck.

Gemmzie - you need to sort out your stomach and as MG has said - go and rattle a few cages. I was told that I had IBS once although I have never had it since so was it or wasn't it - I really don't know.

I have had a fairly productive morning - I walked 4 miles too:D - Firstly it was a trip to the cashpoint to withdraw £10, then it was a walk to the post office to buy stamps and to pay money into my business account (I have now cleared my £150 overdraft:j) and then up to the credit union which is on the other side of town to pay in £100. I decided that whilst I have some debt outstanding that I would use the £200 given to me by my parents yesterday towards my rent to clear the overdraft and to squirrel away to build up my savings.

I have also rung up about a job that I saw that is actually close to my parents and it is a job that I would love to do - it is 10 mins walk from my parents house so I would be close by if there were any problems. I could also park my car there and walk. The people seemed really nice on the phone when I rang them this morning.

Next job is to complete that application and submit, complete extremely large and lengthy application which needs to be submitted today to the Civil Service (I saw a job going at the jobcentre online yesterday but the closing date is today:eek:). I shall print off all the forms required for a divorce and speak to a solicitor to get some free advice.

Today, feels quite positive - the walk has done me good too. I have started to look forward again. I think that clearing a debt has also helped because now I only have my Visa card and my Amex card plus vile bully. At least now with my business overdraft gone - I can start earning some money and it won't be swallowed by the overdraft.:D

It's amazing how much good some fresh air can do. I took my kiddiwinks out yesterday even though it was really windy. We all loved it!

Well done with clearing the overdraft. I totally understand the elation of clearing debt :T

Thank you for the info re NLD. I'm not a teacher but work with children in different schools with SEN. So many more would achieve if teachers had the capacity to be slightly more creative with their teaching. That is not a criticism of teachers but the restrictions they have to work within through no fault of their own. NLD intrigues me so I will be googling away later on!

Today is a day off so it's a juggle between enjoying my youngest and housework. I also need to tackle some bills and phone calls that I've been putting off :o

I don't know the details Marru, but hope your visit is positive.

Hope everyone has a good day :)
One step at a time ;)

Lots of printing off of forms - and goodie for me, I have my dog licence..erm I mean my marriage certificate so the ball is in my court:rotfl: He would have to pay to get a copy.

Tis nearly lunchtime and I can feel a cheesy omelette with lettuce and tomato coming on (it will take me 2 weeks at least to eat this lettuce half - it is an iceberg and you know how big they are:eek:).

I was out in Mum's garden yesterday - not for long though. She has dwarf tulips in flower (they started appearing in December) and her crocuses and snowdrops are out. Mind she did tell me that we wouldn't be having any snow because she had bought some grippers for Dad's shoes to stop him from falling. He slipped over twice last year when it was snowy:( Oh to have a garden.....

When I was in Aldi's last week - I noticed they had bake in the box bread mixes and cake mixes. Must admit that I tried a cake mix - lemon poppyseed which only needed the addition of 4oz milk. I have a multiseeded loaf in the store cupboard - all I need do is add water and let it prove before baking. I shall be attempting to make my own bread soon but felt this might be useful as a standby and I wanted to try the cake as it was my last blow out before I cut out cakes other than those my mum makes.:D

Time to start rattling a few cages Gemmzie and getting some answers - that's a crappy situation to be left in. My mum is OK on juices (she used to have what they thought was IBS) - how are you on those?

She had a book from Jason Vale (The Juice Guy) and at least she was getting good nutrition - from memory she was Ok with bananas and advocados so used to bltz those in to pep up the calories.

I'm okay on orange juice, flat coke and squash but that's about it. Tea caused problems yesterday. I tired the 7lbs in 7 days from him a few years ago but got really unwell after four days, my stomach doesn't like fruit either; much to my annoyance because it used to just be dried fruit that was a problem.

Haven't eaten anything today, making lamb and sweet potato casserole for OH's tea later so hoping that will smell good and tempt me into eating... I keep hoping it's all due to stress.

Sounds like you need to talk to a nutritionist Gemmzie. I can't do orange juice when I have problems as I have to avoid acidic foods. It's just finding what works for you. How about something like chickpeas? Either tinned ones, or slightly overcooked ones so they're easy to digest?

I'm starting to get stomach ache so going to try some rice noodles, they are normally my go to but very hard to find.

I saw an NHS one but she was fairly useless, first appointment she told me to come back with a food diary next time and I already had one that covered six weeks as requested by my GP. So next appointment she went through it and said it looked fine but limited. I should probably find a decent private one but can't afford it at all...
