I had a look at that but it is 39% wool and 40% cotton. And 200g costs £3.99. My friend is going to Finland in February and she could get 150g for €3.60 that has 85% wool. I just need some patience :o

ETA but I might get some anyway as I deperately need a sock knitting fix...

Its a pretty good blend for socks for the boys though.

I scored three balls of 100% wool in the charity shop yesterday - obviously not going to be knitting socks with it - but I have a feeling DS2 will end up with stripy cardi to go with jeans out of it though.

Back to finishing my "static pages" for the blog - with the aim of making it much easier to navigate around over the next three years.

Morning all, OH is going away later today for a gig - paid for from last year's bonus in the summer, last bit of the old job. So I'm having a vegging day and then one of my friends over this evening to talk wedding (she's a bridesmaid) :D. Then not working until tomorrow evening.

Any nutrition experts, since Thursday's illness I'm still totally off food. I've forced down a piece of toast this morning and had a few rice noodles and two crackers yesterday. How long until this becomes dangerous? I really can't stand the thought of food.

That's why I have shakes Gemmzie. And try putting honey or nut butter on crackers to add some nutrition.

Very productive day yesterday - at last 2012 seems under way! Large quantity of curry sauce base now nestling in freezer in 300ml portions. Also 2 lamb 'doner kebab' loaves a la Takeaway Secret which taste fab and are very very easy to make. Made a lamb curry in the end last night and had plenty left over for freezer. Slow cooking a joint of pork ( whoopsie from MrT) which will do at least 2 meals. Getting a grip with the 'great clothes put away challenge weekend' with a large pile to pass on to Oxf*m and some for listing on Eb*y.Stealing a few momets whilst rest of household out watching the local rugby team. And at last I have started my 100 day challenge and completed this morning my 3rd swim at the gym this week :)

    Hi Gemmzie

I have IBS too but mostly under control. I am so sorry to hear you've been so unwell. That sucks. I used to rely on white bread as a staple after a flare-up. Have you read all the new research from Australia on FODMAPs? I follow roughly something similar but with wheat allowed - LoFlex. You could try a shake made with rice milk and some mango? Does pureed food help you? Something like a carrot soup, but without onions or anything? Have you encountered those nutritional meal-replacement shakes?

I also found hypnotherapy to be extremely helpful to reduce the stress triggers. After a bad flare-up it's hard to get eating again because of the trauma of the upset. Not very nice :(

    Hello all

    Happy Birthday Greyfox:beer:

I feel such a louse - my parents have given me £200 to put towards rent, however, it will go into my credit union account instead (don't tell them that). I feel dreadful that I am in a pickle and my parents are bailing me out - it should be me giving them money not the other way round. My life is a mess:o I had a lovely dinner too and came home with another food parcel - leftover beef from dinner, half a lettuce, some tomatoes, 3 large apples (English ones no foreign ones for me), 4 homemade cakes (small), some frozen ham (bought for dad but he doesnt like it).

We had a good chat - I need to go and look at the house again - remember it is a cash buyer and a home for my elderly parents. Parents will then go and look at it and an offer made. I need to work out if I can afford the bills because I will be responsible for them. I have no idea how much gas central heating costs to run and currently pay £39 a month for electric and £21 a month for water. Plus I need to have buildings and contents insurance - so no idea how much that will cost either especially as I have specially listed high value items. If I am on low income I will get my council tax paid, however, I don't intend staying on benefits for ever.

I spoke to them about his nibs and mum said that I should accept the £10K and be rid of him because it was better than nothing. I didnt dare tell her that he told me to get a job before he would release the money. Dad is not best pleased because it isnt much to show for 25 years of marriage and told me to ask for £1000 for every year I had been married and then he would be grateful to be rid of me for £15K which is what is wanted - see he is getting off lightly. I just want rid.

I must then get a will so that he cannot get his hands on anything I own. I have some antiques to be valued and mum has told me about a free valuation day at a local church hall - although it is during the day I intend to go because I have things including my watch that I want valuing (even if I do not sell the watch it will be nice to know what it is worth).

I told dad today that I wish I had never got married in the first place and what a huge mistake I had made but dad explained that everyone makes mistakes and it is what we do with them that counts. He knows that I have put up with a lot during the marriage to the point of literally losing myself and becoming a pathetic creature with zero self confidence. At least I tried.

Mum started fretting about curtains and then said there was always Dunelm Mills - little does she know that I have some curtains already:D I was asked if I had a man on the go and I said that I hadn't and nor did I want one as I had been put off them for life. She told me that the local church runs some fantastic workshops which are cheap and although I am not religious that I should attend because I need to make some new friends - which is true - I do need chums as I am fed up of being on my todd.
