Oops - spendy day - a little birdie told me that Poundland had their multi-pack of seeds in again - so I grabbed my tenner from the envelope marked "garden" and went on a spending spree - of a whole £9 :rotfl:

When I think of the produce this will yield I could sing - LIDL will soon have their 39p seeds in again and I can "splurge" in there too.

Loads of lovely herby / salady / beany stuff on the horizon :j

Asked my Solicitor mate (bearing in mind that the laws are different here in Scotland). She says that you should be eligible for legal aid - then the bill is funded from your settlement, but that 50 / 50 is the starting point so if there is property involved its probably worth going the legal route.

Glad to hear the fighting talk though:D You are entitled to your fair share and that's what you need to ask for.

Horace, just stick with it and please get all the help you can.

OMG!!! I have actually done it. I have tidied DD's room. It has been a mess since we moved here back in May. But now half a bin bag gone to bin, half gone to recycling and one and half going to the beavers. It looks ever so spacious now and everything is in its place. Ok now if I can replicate this in the other rooms I would be soooo chuffed.

Only problem is that she is now clutching to assortment of soft toys and won't let go. I gave her not one, not two but three containers to fill with soft toys and said that what ever doesn't fit have to go. Well what doesn't fit is now under seige here. I think a bit of a negotiation is going to be under way tomorrow when neither of us is tired.

  • Horace, I am thinking of you, and you would do well to heed the advice given and find a local solicitor for a free consultation to make sure your interests are protected.(((hugs to you)))
Well, I have managed to reduce the washing mountain to a biggish hill, listed about 30 items on ebay and have a couple of bags full of stuff still to do, but it's Saturday night and I am off now for a few beers and a read at my book. My lovely daughter made a curry and nann bread for us so no cooking, yay. And there is a lovely pudding with my name on it for later - bliss!

Horace. Agree with everyone that you need to get proper advice. (My hackles rose when I read that you were “allowed” to have some of your jewellery. That’s very big of him, isn’t it.)

Spotted today that 99p shop had multi-pack seeds in, too. Must have a proper look when I don’t have DH in tow & a bus to catch!

Another one who’s had a bit of a CBA week. Bedroom (loft conversion) is still full of Christmas stuff to be put away in what is left of the loft. (DH can’t get in there & I have to “limbo” through the hatch & around the eaves.) Mind you, I did spend about 30 hours this week researching a friend’s Family Tree. (Classic displacement activity!)

Off to have a long soak in a bubble bath. By the time I emerge, I’ll have moved into a new decade!

Morning all - I can't sleep! I've looked for this thread after seeing it mentioned elsewhere - possibly by Aesop? After a long difficult 18 months I have left my husband. I have 2 young children and a lot of debt! I am chipping away at this with the help of PaD but really need to generate more income. I am looking at setting up a small business this year. It won't impact immediately as I will have to start off small, but I'm prepared to work at it.

I read part of The Secret last year and it really helped. I lost my way a little over Christmas and need to reconnect with positive thoughts in conjunction with a plan!

So that's me! I haven't read all of this thread yet but I will! I look forward to sharing your journeys and taking on board some of the positive vibes. Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday Hopeful, welcome aboard hon. Sounds like you are in the right frame of mind to deal with your debts - so hang around here a while, the Matrixettes are a law of nature.

Happy Birthday Greyfox - is that you into your 20's now then????

Today, ironing (Meh!!!), homework for DS1 (been teaching him an NLP spelling strategy) and then he has swimming party at 3.30. But food is from the freezers so all is nicely frugal.

  • Happy birthday Greyfox!

Welcome Hopeful, when you've finished catching up on this thread I can strongly recommend having a look through MG's original threads. They're inspirational and fun! I don't have the links but someone more helpful/useful will be along soon I'm sure!

A lot of sifting and sorting going on on all levels just now for me - it's not just the garage but my mental furniture is getting re-arranged too :rotfl::rotfl:
It's leading on from the "aha" moments I had a few weeks ago and I just need to let it all unfold. The interesting thing is, if my house had sold quickly I would not have had this time and opportunity to prepare (or be prepared?) so thoroughly. So what sometimes looks like a disadvantage when something doesn't happen quickly, may be for the best ultimately. Seeds underground, time to germinate and all that. We don't dig them up to check if something's really happening - we just allow them the time and space to get on with it! :rotfl::rotfl:Just a little water and fertiliser needed - and words of encouragement!!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

    Welcome hopeful :)

Inspired by the success yesterday I have set myself as a target today to list 10 items on fleabay. I shall get on with it after I stop mooching over sock wool in the net :o

Sock wool for sale in LIDL this week - can highly recommend it. Nice to work with and hard-wearing too (the boys have been wearing them all winter)

    No postage either LOL
