Walk done, Estrobalance collected, and very nice Graze box sent by a kind friend (you know who you are :)) sampled.

No housework or work done yet, and I have a long list of stuff to do before I head off out this afternoon.

House viewed - I am in love with it already. It is gorgeous and just the right size for me. It has loads of storage with two large cupboards on the landing, a walk in over stairs cupboard in the front bedroom together with a wall of fitted wardrobes. Back bedroom has more fitted wardrobes. Loads of kitchen cupboards and a pantry (great store for tins and packets as well as my ironing board). Outside there are two brick built storage sheds - one has a shelf and I think it was either the old coal hole or an outside loo, the other is quite big and has an old red tiled floor - both are dry and both suitable for gardening stuff including a chair and my camping stuff. The garden is of adequate size and larger than average (most new houses have a postage stamp) which is laid mainly to lawn with some borders - there is also a lovely winter flowering jasmine up against the shed.

Considering the house is empty - it is in good order and quite warm, it must have good insulation in the loft because the frost was still on the roof whereas next door's roof was clear (they still have some of the original metal window frames). There are radiators everywhere too. It is carpetted throughout. The carpets are fairly decent, maybe the kitchen needs a lick of paint as the wall is painted an odd purpley colour, the bedrooms are ok although the wallpaper is a bit dated but I can put up with that.

Need to sort out money from OH and I am seeing him at the weekend - better to ask face to face than over the phone. Now when I get that agreeement dad will be investing.

I have mentally decorated the house and have mentally bought curtains for it from the charity shop. I am sorely tempted to get the pair of golden fully lined curtains that are £7.50 (more suited for a bedroom and they could go in the front bedroom). I was tempted by a brand new set of floral curtains - the original allders price was £125.99, the sale price was £62 and the charity shop want £15 for them. Of course I have no idea of lengths or widths of windows.

The tax man has contributed to a new kettle that I had to buy this morning. Alas I could not change the fuse on the old kettle as there was no access to the plug, however, this new kettle allows me access to change the fuse if needs be - the tax rebate contributed £10 and I had a love2shop voucher for £10 which cost me nowt.

Need to sort out a parcel of goodies to be sent to the north pole - I may do that later in the week as I don't intend to go out again today and won't be going out until Thursday.

Are you sending Father Christmas presents, because he probably doesn't get many ;)

Seriously the house sounds lovely and I really hope it becomes yours very quickly. What fantastic parents you have.

It might be worth grabbing the curtains now, otherwise they might get snaffled quickly based on those prices.

I am now £22.50 lighter than I was this morning - yes, you guessed it I went back to the charity shop and bought some curtains.

The brand new still in the package ones are by Rectella and are fully lined, they have a carnation and other flowery pattern on them and are 90" wide and 72" long - now these could go at the end of the room where I have a door into the garden. See I am praying that the universe delivers.:D The gold curtains are fully lined (I think thermal as the linings seem to be quite thick) and these are 66" wide and 55" long and were cheaper at £7.50 per pair. The charity shop I got them in sells good quality items what is a bonus is that they gave me a receipt and if I get the house within the next month and the curtains don't fit then I can return them. Still can't get over why someone would want to pay £125.99 for a pair of curtains in the first place (is this how much curtains cost?). I couldnt leave them in the shop for them to be snaffled by somebody else and if they don't fit or whatever then I can always ebay them or sell them privately through other means.

The house gets the sun all day as in the morning it gets the sun on the front and in the afternoon on the back - can't wait to get stuck into that garden:rotfl: I did notice that there is a nice long washing line in the garden and I do happen to have a whole length of yellow plastic washing line hanging up in my kitchen - it will be long enough.

I must be sensible and not buy anything else as I do not want to jinx the purchase.

Suppose I had better get cracking on some applications although the thought of dreaming about a little house made just for me is too much of a distraction at the moment - I am loving the thought of actually being warm too:D

Totally lacking in inspiration so far today. Might make a few phonecalls and then I need to shower, change and get myself on a train for a meeting in London. I just wish it wasn't so cold!

AT that price I would buy any full length lined curtains that you fall in love with - you can always shorten them when you move in. With metal windows you will want to have them as thick and as lined as you can lay your hands on.

Extra fabric makes cushion covers and stuff too.

Sounds like a lovely house - I am glad you got a viewing in daylight

I'm back in the house again - so time to get on with some work - although my legs feels better for a stretch out my armpits still ache :rotfl::rotfl:
