Ah yes, the third Monday of January - apparently it's the day people's money runs out because they were paid early, and the day the Christmas credit card bill arrives...
I don't see the fuss really, all January days are naff...!0 -
I'm always skint - so makes no odds really:rotfl:
Sooo cold here - but sunny and clear, so I am putting my happy feet on and gonna walk around the park to ease my aching legs then get the littlie.
Mind you - the sun does make my windows look really grubby :rotfl:

Ok, I have phone and broadband back after moving the master socket. And one extra phone socket installed in the kitchen. The wired network connections in the study are being tested, then the spare room light, sockets, phone and network need doing, and finally the sitting room network.
Then shelves and wardrobe... I think we have a busy day ahead!
Two mile walk done this morning, and I have discovered that I am a lot lighter on Monday mornings than Sunday evenings, so may switch weigh-in day.
Dentist and blood test appointments made, gym membership has been suspended and they will credit me some of the unused time (I called to cancel, as I they ask for doctors' letters to suspend and I'm not wasting either the GP's or consultant's time on that), so £35/month saved.
Now I need to start calling flooring companies to come and quote for sorting out the floorboards upstairs... Unless MG is free to come and do them for me0 -

Apparently this is "Blue Monday" - where we feel at our lowest. Not me, this is my time and got no time for negative self talk today - onwards and onwards

I have sanded and refinished many floorboards in my time - and every time I swear "never again" - but they always look so lovely when you have finished.
This house has got lovely vintage chipboard - but one day I will lay something like Karndean that is easy to keep and natural looking.
Off to get littlie from Playgroup -then todays lunchbox of
Kale
Spinach
Carrot
Beetroot
Sprouted seeds
Grilled pollack as protein
and dressing made from lime, sesame oil, chilli and ginger juice
Should be nice and zingy on the fish though.
And off we go

Only Day 2 for me - could quite believe it would work though .... and its not a wussy workout.
I think Hypno followed this right through - why not ask her if she recommends it to get another viewpoint.
Might forgive my "Aussie Friend" for buying it if I lose the inches

Blue Monday? Only one definition for me and that's the New Order song:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Just back from hospital having had ultra sound scan - looking for waht caused my 3 weeks of illness before Christmas - a gall stone the 'size of rock' ( direct quote) which apparently translates as something that is measuring 3 cm.Got to go and see GP and discuss how to proceed. I havent had any pain since the bout before Christmas which seemed to clear up as soon as I stopped taking the anti inflammatories. Feelin grot at mo as i am coming to the end of a nasty flu type bug. Next week is CT scan to look at my sinuses and see what the problem is there. NHS frequent flyer at the moment
Beautiful sunny crisp day here - but some very hungry looking birds. I am just about up to filling the feeders which be about as much exercise as I can do today!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Igamogam - gall stone pain is the worst pain you will ever experience:eek: I had gallstones for quite a while before I was rushed into hospital in the previous 8 months before hospitalisation I had bouts of being quite ill and in great pain together with days when I was pain free. I felt quite unwell and did nothing about it and then one day I collapsed at home and was rushed into hospital - stubborn as a mule I told the doctor that I wasn't staying in hospital as I had to go to work the next day. Blood was taken which grew things, my tummy was redhot yet my forehead was stone cold and my eyes and skin had turned yellow. I stayed in hospital for a week - spending that time on morphine and antibiotics because my gall bladder was so inflamed, I wasn't operated on straight away and had to wait a month - all the time taking antibiotics and then I had surgery. I was so ill my bed was closest to the nurses' station and my gallbladder when removed through my belly button was the size of a large grapefruit:eek: In the run up to the surgery the gallbladder was considerably bigger but I guess to large to operate on hence all the antibiotics. I spent a week in hospital plus 4 weeks' off work and didn't feel properly well until the following January.
Had to smile during my first bout of hospitalisation as the secretary whose office I shared (much to her disgust) who had been quite vile towards me came to visit me in hospital mortified that her nastiness had put me there. I had to explain that it was illness that put me there not her vileness towards me and that she had better get over herself because I didnt want to be sharing her office any more than she wanted me there. We became quite good friends.
You have my sympathies where gall stones are concerned. You will have to change your diet and eat less fat. I found that after having surgery I could no longer eat yoghurt or cheerios breakfast cereal, however, I can now eat cheese.
Spent yesterday freezing and didnt go out at all, I was going out today but I think I shall stay in again because it is so cold. Tomorrow I have to go out and about as I have the house viewing and need to pay a cheque in at the bank - I can then hit the post office as I need some first class stamps. I must buy a ream of white paper too because I don't think that prospective employers would be too happy in receiving applications on yellow paper.0
