Aesop, what makes you think that? I don't think it is possible.

Gemmzie, been on the other side, just want to send you HUGS!!!

DD is a monster today. She seems to think that if she is really naughty and keeps calling us idiots we would let her to go and live with her dad. I know he has no intentions of having her full time but he has promised for her to "sort it out" so that she could live with him. So now I have a monster in the house :(

I can't log in at all... and then I couldn't even access the log in page.

((((((((((((((Marru))))))))))))) I hate when parents play their kids to get their own way, my DH's ex wife does that. Not so much now the kids are over 20.... they know their own minds. but at that age.....

Deep breaths Marru - you and I know that'ns never gong to happen and she is just testing boundaries. Repeat after me "Silly Daddy!!!"

But every time she calls you an "idiot" - naughty step I'm afraid. Disrespect is a deal breaker in our house - she knows there are consequences to her actions, so let her know that however upsetting she is being your "rules of the home" still apply.

Then early bath, get her in bed and enjoy a glass of wine:D

    This too shall pass

    Good Afternoon

    Had a lazy morning :)

Dug the halogen oven out xmas day to help with cooking xmas dinner, and we haven't put it away this year, so I am attempting to roast a chicken in it today :) and going to make an effort to use it more.

    Hey Everyone

TMIF - congratulations on your holiday, I hope you have an amazing time in Malta and enjoy every minute. DH and I visited Valetta a few years ago and we loved it. We had a very happy holiday there. I think it's somewhere that's very easy to have a good time. Clootie, I LOLed at your post!!

JC2703 - wow what a wonderful weight loss, fantastic start to the new year!

Crickett - hope your HB gets better, sounds like a very productive weekend with some quality time too.

Marru - sorry to hear about your Ex. How selfish talking to your DD like that. Hope the naughty step is not too busy today!!

MG - You sound so positive and motivated and happy. I will point you back to these posts when you take your first big holiday after becoming mortgage free. I so believe it will happen. It sounds like you have some fab goals and the stuff you're doing with the mentors sounds exciting.

I had a nice weekend, yesterday I made my own sausages, which took ages and was very messy but was also a lot of fun. And they taste yummy!! I thought my poor 1970s Kenwood was going to blow up for a moment though. It needs a service and there are companies, but they are expensive. Then we went out with a couple, friends from DH freelance work. They are just about to go travelling for 3 months and then are moving to Australia (the guy is Australian, so going home for him). I was so jealous of all the adventures they are having. I really want a couple more adventures in my future that involve travelling, but dear H hates it and wants to stay in London. Hmm... I wonder what will happen in the next few years? Will I be able to get a job at all after I finish my studies? What might that job be like? I'm sort of at the point now where I should be becoming more visible, and positioning myself for future work, by blogging, presenting more, doing internships etc. But I am sort of not ready to be that person yet - not really confident enough. So I think that's my challenge for 2012.

    Have a great Sunday, ladies!

I think now that you have stated your intentions Lara - the Universe will find a way. I find that when I set a goal that really stretches the person I am now - I kind of grow into a whole new kind of person to fulfil it.

Claire - my oven is never away - our daily bread comes from it and over the last year or two I have collected enough "round" baking ware to use it for pretty much everything.

Our decorations are away - always take them down after our last feast on 3 Kings Night - don't know why but that feast has to have unleavened bread, dried broad beans and pomegranates??? Somewhere in the mongrel past of my family there will be a reason?

So the living room looks very plain - but we do have some candles left to burn (a Matrixette sent the boys a tenner for Christmas treats and both boys have taken it in turns to choose a different candle to burn every evening (as they are a quid from the pound shop at the mo we have enough light and love to see us well into the New Year.

I shall think of you all as we light a candle tonight as it gets dark

So far this weekend the wheel came off my hoover (fixed it myself), my tumble dryer is dead, my dishwasher died yesterday so I have spent the last hour emptying and washing all dishes from it, am going to have a poke around and see if it can be revived, but if not I can't complain, it has had 7 years of hard labour and was second hand to me.
GS coming to stay over so some baking/messing around at the sink is in order, he just loves to help! It is FREE LISTING on ebay this weekend and I have at least 30 photos ready, just need time to get the stuff listed, but as I have already made £30 since Friday the incentive is there for me to make some more money.

I want to try and build a store cupboard, I don't have room currently for a spare cupboard, and am not allowed to store much under the stairs :( and cannot get into the loft, so cannot store much up there if I want to access regularly.

So have been trying to find a guide to what you should have in your store cupboard, so can try to spend less on actual food.

Does anyone have a link or a guide please?

    I currently have

    2 cans of tomatoes
    pasta loads
    honey
    spaghetti
    onions
    plain flour
    self raising flour
    bread mix
    cake mix
trifle (I know... but it was cheap and I used vouchers to pay for it)
    cake decorations
    oil
    spices
    suet
    couscous
    stock
    pancake mix
    mini hot dogs
    tomato paste
    ketchup
    vinegar

I need to go and buy value baked beans
    tinned garden peas
    mash
    tuna
    mixed beans
    sweetcorn

but what else do I need?

I want to try and start baking more of my own stuff, especially Tinks hobnobs. DS loves biscuits but need to save on the ones we buy.

    Afternoon

Well the roast chicken dinner was a success :) can you make rice pudding in it??

Have had a row with DH so feeling rather deflated and not knowing what to do :( Can't go into details on here as it is to do with my little venture :( Although I can say he called me a free loader and a spounger :( which has left me quite upset :(

My dishwasher is playing up too, have just put it back on, it doesn't seem to be cleaning very well, and it was only 2 weeks ago I put a dishwasher cleaner through it :( mines got a guarantee thing on it mind so I can get it fixed if it has broken.
