Oooh, I loved Malta. It was my first holiday with the exOH when we were young and in love and we had a fabulous time, met lots of friendly people, explored what felt like the whole island in a week and caught the sun (I remember not being able to wear a bra for a couple of days as my sunburn was too painful! funny now......but definitely not at the time!)

Hope you have a fab time tmif x

  • I did a double take then - having got rid of the telly I have a small budget now for other entertainment and this morning I saw a lovely 1,000 piece jigsaw in the local charity shop window, which came home with me, one of Turner's Venice paintings. £2 for hours and hours of delight and torment!

TMIF - your hol destination looks great - all inclusive is a great idea - enjoy!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

  • Hello there Matrix.

Thanks for all the lovely congratulations! :) I am feeling pretty good about it, I must say! :D

So, today has been really busy... and is about to get busier. I have done the menu, done the shopping list, done the shopping, ran a few errands, put all the shopping away and the cooked Brunch for my hubby who is not looking very well at all! :( After typing this, I am going to get up and clear away after the lovely grill up we have just had, and then clean the house. Just swish about and do a surface clean, because then I have a lovely afternoon of knitting and watching some DVDs. :D

Choir rehearsal last night was excellent! :) Had a ball... and was home earlier than I thought I would be, which was lovely.

Right... hubby is trying to do the dishes, which is lovely of him, but he really ought to be sitting down and allowing himself to feel icky... so excuse me while I go and shout at him slightly!

I shall try and pop in tomorrow...! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Memory Girl – Loved the radio broadcast :T– its amazing what can be done – do you think there is a need for ‘education?’ for those who do not have access to a ‘granny’!? Its frightening to think that these skills could be lost with a generation
TMIF - 'sings - Im walking on sunshine oh yea !!!:rotfl:
To everyone a HUGE HUG AND THANK YOU for help me with all your tips/chat/suggestions/support
Was in Mr Ts yesterday and bought compostable food waste bags. £2.75 !!!!! Got me thinking (a la mattrix) there must be a cheaper way.
There is – I need to stop wasting food!!!! Despite my best efforts I always seem to end up throwing some food away. Admitedly its become much less than it was but still not good enough.
For the bits that I do dispose of I have spent the morning making waste bags from newspaper and waste paper from work (college) cheaper!!!! DH, DD and DS think I have gone mad – maybe so but feeling good about the £2.75 I will be saving in future. My inspiration??? MGs vanilla essence made from Vodka & vanilla pods :A It has dawned on me that there is almost always a cheaper alternative.

    Thank You!!

PS does anyone know the best (ie cheapest!) place to get dried yeast?

Thanks mumsie - I had fun doing the radio - hopefully this year will bring much more.

Off to have a call with one of the mentors in a mo - techie guy, lovely, but don't understand much of what he gets excited about.

Does anyone know if you are allowed to use a BBC broadcast on your Blog - just the interview won't be on i-player for much longer and it would be nice to hold onto it for newbies IYSWIM?

Ickle wine bottle (handbag size) was consumed last night and as I am normally virtually tee-total I woke up after a long and fab nights sleep with a muzzy head. Dh had a works do last night but was designated driver so he is buzzing after 900 glasses of pepsi so he has been in charge of icklies all day.

So far progress today has been finish one book, drink all the brews he has made, exercise and come on here - I like lazy days. There is plenty of work to fill up every other day but today it is shut away in the back room.

Four mile walk followed by lunch with a friend - my first normal day out for months, which feels great :) tested the new garmin forerunner that OH gave me for my birthday (could it have been a hint that I need to get back to running?) and now need to read the manual ...

Quiet evening in, as I'm tired, which I'd expected after the longest walk i've done in months! There is housework to be done before Monday (clearing up the mess left by the Christmas tree for one thing) but it won't happen till tomorrow. The study lampshade has arrived and been put up, but probably needs a second opinion.

Better go and rejig the meal plan due to two missed lunches and see what needs eating!
