Citibanking working fine for me. And my card is only declined where Chip and Pin is not available. I can live with that.
The service I have had has been very good although I try to avoid the telephone service as much as I can.0 -
I use IE7 and I have never had any problem with accessing my account online. I really like their easy to use interface and their lovely customer service. I use the citi card online and in shops a lot and never had any problem with it. Their monthly statements are also better than a lot of other banks.
The only thing I dont like about citi is that they dont have a large network of branches and if you use Lloyds to deposit money or cheque it takes too long.
But the thing is that most of the people including me that applied for a citi current account were those who could not get a current account elsewhere.
Those who think citibank is crap then why dont they just close their account and open it with an other bank as its really difficult to live with any sort of crap thing.<<If you liked what I said then feel free to click on the thanks button>>0 -

You even have to give approval to each other for postings that defend Citibank.
“Curious and curiouser”, said Alice.
Ohhhh.. Got a name check .. Fancy!
I feel no 'religious fervour' (well in some things but not posting on the MSE forum) and I can thank who I jolly well like ...Nowt curious about that:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

I have the same problem,
I got declinded in many shops that do not have chip and pin, or there chip and pin was broken.
I called Citi and they advise they decline them for security reasons-
This is because without chip and pin, the bank has to pay for any fraudulent payments. With chip and pin, they have managed to move the risk to the consumer and the retailer.
Neat work, eh...? As you can gather I am against chip and pin transactions. It was touted as the answer to fraud - well, it is, but only for the banks!
An interesting point - under the Disability Act, anyone who can't use a PIN for whatever reason should be able to use a chip and sign card. One day, Citibank may find itself at the wrong end of a legal action as it has in its T&C about only being able to use chip and pin. Bet it's not the only bank in this situation either.0 -
applied for the a/c via quidco. got the £50 and the ipod, but unfortunately, since their customer service was so rubbish (mistakes with xfering the dd's leading to interest on one cc and an altogether missed payment on another), I've closed it
the £10/month fee didn't do much to persuade me to stay0 -

You didn't have to pay the £10pm. You could have opted for the Access account.0 -
Its working again now, went to fill up with petrol earlier and was declined, it normally is ok at my local petrol station. Also declined at a cash point, as ive said, i have cash in the bank. Rang Citibank who were very apologetic, would happen on a Bank Holiday weekend.0

I wonder what would happen if you asked them for compensation,
due to not being able to access your funds,
you did use a link ATM didn't you,
just a thought,
I live in a small town
about 10 ATM's all being link one's so I have a range of different ATM's in different place's that I can use,
and never been declined yet,
I have used my card at woolworth's chip and pin,
and many other small shop's in my home town all being chip and pin,
and have had no problem's,
I do ask if I am going to buy something from a shop that they are chip and pin,
if not then I pay with money,
I always carry a small amount of money in my purse,
usually about £20
just in case,
although being disabled I don't like to anymore,
to many pick pockets
muggings
10 years ago it was not heard of in this part of the world,
but now it seems to be the norn
which is sad
what has this world come to,
cw

Card seems to be working fine yesterday and today so far, i wonder if all the problems are to be put down to a bust easter weekend. I did message Citibank and they advise me they would investigate this matter. I was able to supply them with all the details as I have proof that my card was declined.
Hopefully thats the problem sorted:beer:If I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
