£2 has been deducted from my available balance and it doesn't say why  - I have an access account which is free, no monthly charges. Should I contact them? has anyone else had this happen?

Have you pre ordered anything? If you order a PS3 let's say from Amazon but it's not ready to be sent yet then they often validate the card number you've given them and this will show as a pound or two drop in your available balance I think.
When your order gets sent out then the correct amount of money will be taken and the odd pound or two missing from your available balance will come back.
    I think that's right anyway?

Ah! - that make sense :T I ordered my grocery shop .. it looks like everything is as it should be now - Thank you.
I've never used a debit card before so wasn't sure if I'd done something wrong and got a charge for it :o

  • I am at the stage of sending back a bill, etc to open my citibank:j But have a couple of questions if ok

    1) I've read it can take up to 5 days for bank transfers to show in your bank. Does that also apply to benefits? Or will it still show up on the same days as it does now.

    2) How do you pay money into the account? for example cheques

    Many thanks
    :j £2 coins = £2.00 :j

1 - Your bank credits will still go in on the same day and date - ie my salary goes in on the last Thursday of each month and it still does. The 5 days you refer to is for crediting money to your account Via Lloyds

2- Cheques can be sent direct to Citibank - Cash paid in Via Lloyds - Bank transfer from account to account.

    Hope that helps

    Hi
this happen's everytime I do a shop with tesco,
been like it every since tesco up-dated there website last year,
    apparently
tesco cannot determine whether it's a credit card
which you get charged £2 for using
or a debit card so everyone who does a shop get's charged £2
but because your bank know's it's a debit card they wont authorise the payment of £2
so for about 2-3 days it show's £2 missing
then it goes back on your account,
    I had this last year,
    and rang HSBC
who asked if I'd done a shop in tesco about 500 miles away from where I lived
when I said no they asked if I'd done a shop at tesco anywhere,
    when I said yes
    they said it was tesco,
but were trying to charge me £2 for using my credit card
    I said it's a debit card
and they said for me to sort it out with tesco,
which I did try to do,
    but they just said
yes we charge you put we don't take it,
if it does actually go out of your bank
    I would ring your bank
    then tesco
and try to sort it out.

just an up-date on quidco and citi
citi weren't showing up on my quidco, so I got in touch with them,
    the reply was,
citi have agreed to pay you half of what you would have earned,
as you have as you have opened a savings account with them on the day you say you went through quidco to sign-up for this account, so you will receive only half of what you should have earned,
well I done think this is fair,
alot of things that I have bought haven't shown up,
I am using window's washer now,
so that should sort out the problem as to why all my clicks are not being tracked,
    but come on,
    peed off over quidco,

I have the Sterling Current Account which I opened at the end of Jan/start of Feb. I don't want to pay the extra £10 a month for the add on extras. Is the £10 a month thing due to start on April 1st? Should I be phoning Citibank up now to downgrade account? I don't want to loose my 2in1 Visa Debit card though.

For those of you lucky enough to be near a Citibank Branch (like me), I popped in last week Thu to pay a chq and some cash into my account.

The cash appeared straight away, and the chq will be cleared tomorrow (Tuesday).
