I think they are taking alot longer with application due to the volume that they receive now. My mother has waited 16days so far since she got her ID back. I will keep you all updated.

I hope it was sooner as I about to reclaim my charges with my bank (halifax) and just wanted to open this account with citibank just incase halifax do decide to close my account

I think my application took a little over two weeks, but you can phone them to see how it's progressing. Can I also say I have phoned them on two occasions as I was having problems getting on internet banking, I had no problems at all the two gentlemen I spoke to were pleasant and spoke excellent English and they resolved my problem immediately.

I everyone,

I sent off my citi application letter, I received my utility bills back yesterday along with a letter stating that they were processing my application and they would be intouch if they required anymore info, it then said something about if not they will send out my account number and at the end of the letter it says "we look forward to welcoming you as a citibank customer"

Did anyone else receive this letter before they opened the account? I was shocked as i thought it would be a declined letter and it all seemed quite posotive, it didn't say anything like "if you are successful" etc.

I really want this account to go through, I didn't apply for the overdraft, but I have about 6 defaults and a CCj.

I can't get credit anywhere!

Hope someone can provide some more info ....

how long from when you sent off the app to getting that letter electriclady?

I sent the app last wednesday 14th and the letter is dated the 15th but I received it yesterday.

I had the same letter i dont know if its good or bad, the normal letter says thay will be in contact within 15 working days.My credit is abuot the same as yours.so its just a case of wait and see.

Brill...........I would have expected a letter saying something along the lines of "we are processing your application and we will send you account details if successful". Everything seems quite positive. Fingers crossed!

Some people seem to have received a different letter, saying they will contact them in next few week...................will just have to wait and see

I think the standard letter they send when returning ID is the one that mentions they will process within 15 working days.... It is quite a positive letter .. Good luck ... :cool:

Thanks........I hope so, my mum also got the same letter......but she doesn't have very good income. I just hope its a good sign and not a new standard letter.
