in the big book that came with welcome pack it says
    Transferring money

there are various options available to you when you need to transfer your money within the UK and abroad.
pick the option thats right for you.

use BACS if you want to transfer funds to another account in the UK at no cost.
your funds are normally credited within 3-4 working days.

use CHAPS if you want to transfer funds to another account in the UK and you need them to clear on the same day.
there is a charge for this service.

use SWIFT (telegraphic transfer) if you want to send payments abroad.
there is a charge for this service.

use CITIBANK GLOBAL TRANSFER for instant funds to other citibank accounts in selected countries in the UK and abroad. there's no charge when you transfer to accounts of the same currency. although a commission will be applied when changing currencies. you can use our multi-function cash machines, or citibank online, to transfer to a citibank account abroad or in the UK

    hope this helps
    CW

    Thanx for the help. :T

I dont know this but I wouldnt recommend it
as if you want to up-grade for the basic account you need to keep the slate clean for at least 3 months

    Hi
I too was lucky to get the halifax account as applied for it same time as citi
but dont know if I actually want the account now
so what I've done with it is set it up with quidco so that any earnings I get from them will go straight into that,
like a second small savings account,
I wont touch this until christmas
and also have you thought of paypal to transfer money from halifax to citi
I dont know how its done
but worth a try if you trust paypal
I get my money put straight into citi account now so that whats left over at the end of the month I can transfer to my savings account.
    hope this helps

  • Anyone else noticed an issue with SO's on the Citibank account?

I have set up a couple, and even though you are asked to put in a reference number so the payment can be matched (e.g. your account number of your gas bill), when the payment is processed, the account number is not sent, resulting in the receiving organisation not knowing where to allocate the payment they received.

This only came to light when I received a letter from EDF to say they cannot allocate payment and they require my EDF Account number.

This is a real nuisance as I prefer SO to DD. Am I doing something wrong?

I have been charged a late payment fee by CapitalOne even though payment was made via standing order. So now I am having to chase everyone up to tell them I have paid. When you view the So on internet banking the Reference Number is not shown even though you have added it!!

Oh, thats a bit of a worry isn't it ...

I haven't set up any SO's yet but I'd be interested to see if this has happened to others ...
