Hi yes I am the one and only computerwoman, wayhay, creditexpert have people that work or thm that cn help you out, they ask you if they is anything your not happy with and anything that is not yours, when you say yes those 30 odd are nothing to do with me they go off and sort it out for you, its 30 free trial then £6.99 a month after that, once they have sorted it out for you ring them up and tell you longer want them, or keep them on just to make sure that it doesn't happen again.
and if it doesn't sort it out I would see a solicitor to see if you can get it off your name...

Hi Ice, thanks for advice. I have actually already joined both Experians and Equifax's online reporting systems that's why I can see all these things appearing. I can't be doing with solicitors etc, too busy at the moment so i'll just keep a low profile for like 6 years and they'll all drop off - I can explain to my Mortgage Company and Bank and thats the main thing. As it happens, two of the defaulted accounts are with HSBC who I bank with. They emailed me confirming that the passport I provided differs to that from the other person with my name but Equifax said they wouldn't remove it!!! Experian doesn't have any link to this other dude so safe on that front plus I could stick to Experian only searches lol :-(Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

afraid to say.
but watch out for it and if anything else turns up then get them to sort it, Equifax are gits, if it isn't you then it shouldn't be on your account.

anything to do with banks doesn't drop-off after 6 years, just other things like mobile phones/mail order/ that sort of stuff, banks never go away.

Ice, Have had response from Information Commissioner (ICO) who advise that defaults etc stay on for no longer than 6yrs from date of default so to be honest maybe only got like maximum of 4 years.... guess by then the recession will be over so may get credit easier anyway lol.
Thing is, i'm not bothered if I get owt or not but I thought i'd apply for a few things - wish I bloody never now haha
Thanks for help - i'll still update with appeal news cos they have already searched me prior to the link appearing so it never showed at the time they done the search (phew!) close call. Well one did, Sygma Bank (JJB Card) and listed a CIFAS but not at my address - at the linked address which is sod all to do with me hahaha - what a joke!!! Makes me chuckle... really it does.
This shower of shysters couldn't organise a pi**-up in a bewery!!!Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Just thought i'd give an update;
applied for (16th Jan) Vanquis card - today got call at home saying welcome to Vanquis! They must search Experian only cos my Equifax file is a mess (see previous posts lol). I got £500 limit and teir B interest apparently. They tried to sell me the PPI and offered me £400 cash today - haha, amusing. They must think i'm daft or summat! Anyway, that's a Vanquis in the bag...
CitiBank - right, this gets funnier by the day! Rung them today and was told they received my appeal documents and will assess them now - please hold. I hold for less than 3 minutes and she comes back and states "sorry but your appeal is declined". I'm like - !!!!!!!!! I spent ages getting the info together and copying it to make aneat little appeal bundle all for those prats to spend like 2 minutes scanning it! The Cheek! lol
Guess i'll keep appealing just to annoy em now... i'll argue that they have a copy of my Experian report which is pretty good (just shows 6 searches and 3 live accounts all with green [O]'s......) so why did they refuse my appeal, i.e. on what grounds? See what they gotta say.
Will update the others as and when I get rejected, later this week I guess!Some say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...

Action to follow:
Citi - i'm reappealing asking them to re, reconsider
Asda - they refused my appeal purely on grounds of too many searches being made (7 in last year). I'll try blagging them and see if they buckle somewhat and give me account :-)
I'll actually keep reappealing until I get final firm NO! LOL. May as well annoy em and make them earn their wages in this recession....

Update - 01.02.09
Had responses from all the companies I appealed against and got varying responses as detailed below. Hope the info helps others;
Co-Op Bank Account - APPEAL REJECTED
Co-Op Credit Card - APPEAL REJECTED
Co-Op pretty much wrote back stating that they appreciate my additional documents and having 'manually' assessed my application, I fail to meet their credit score. They offered me a CashMinder Account there and then to which I refused.
Natwest Bank Account - APPEAL REJECTED
Natwest similarily stated that 'due to adverse information on my credit files' they cannot override original decision and sorry that they cannot help.
Natwest Credit Card - APPEAL ACCEPTED
Natwest Credit Card accepted my appeal - £750 limit! 'Dear Mr X, thanks for the additional documents, we are pleased to inform you that you have been successful in your application for a natwest Credit card and we are pleased to offer you a starting credit limit of £750' blah, blah, blah
Citi Bank Account - APPEAL REJECTED
CitiBank pretty much told me to come back in 6 months. They do have an 'appeals' department and they did say my application was manually assessed but that I did not meet their 'internal credit score'.
Citi Credit Card - APPEAL REJECTED
Citi Credit Card pretty much told me the same as above. Come back in 6 months. They, like the Bank Accounts, do have an 'appeals' department and they did say my application was manually assessed but that I did not meet their 'internal credit score'.
MBNA Credit Card - APPEAL ACCEPTED
MBNA accepted me, got phone call and told I could do a transfer of upto £3750 - I declined. I assume my limit will be £4k then, if so wow! I'll let you know when I know! Details to follow....
Asda Credit Card - APPEAL REJECTED
Asda (GE Money) told me that due to 'excess searches' my application was rejected. They initially accepted me with a £500 limit and at lending review it was revoked so they apologise if I got conflicting letters but this was the definitive one and supercedes any others - kinda a final polite way of saying '!!!!!! orf!'
As you can tell from the above, each company has different lending criteria - for the record each lender above searched Experian and GE & Natwest (Bank & Credit Card) searched Equifax as well - GE searched 4 times at each address plus incorrect linked one! Natwest done 2 searches at each address. Guess the moral here is that GE Money are the strictest closely followed by Natwest whilst MBNA seem to be the most generous.
On another matter, i've just received my Vanquis card with a £500 limit so what they said on phone was rubbish (surprise surprise).
Therefore, current liabilities are as follows;
MBNA CC £4000
Vanquis CC £500
JD Williams £100
Natwest CC £750
Balances on each are £0.00 LOL :money:
Right some processes for you to absorb
Natwest Bank:
They basically approve almost everyone online and await return of documents prior to doing a full credit search at every address linked to your credit report on both Experian and Equifax. They then pre authorise the account and may send you a letter confirming you've been succesful enclosing your sort code/account number etc. However, prior to them issuing your debit card (ServiceCard £100) they do another full equifax search - this is where I came unstuck. Therefore don't bank on Natwest giving you an account until you actually have a a card in your hand! I got letter, paying in book, internet log-in, cheque book and then letter stating account was closed - after arguing in branch I was told it was when they done full Equifax search at time of ordering Servicecard!
Hope this info helps people - sorry for the long post.....

Off the topic a little but just wonder if anyone can help.... I notice a few posters to this site have more than one (some have 4) JD Williams group accounts, how is this possible? I got JD but then applied for crazy clearance got accepted but then after logging out/in again the limit went to 0.00.
Anyone have any ideas/info they'd be willing to share cos i'm confused.... or maybe they have just changed the way it works meaning one account per customer or something? maybe only one online account at any one time, who knows? LOL
