Mines shows on Experian - I just checked last week. I have been with Citi for over 12mths.
If in doubt email themIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
Interesting thread - I think Citi have got a mind of their own when it comes to who they will give accounts to.
I've got a Mastercard with them with a £750 limit, I've had it since February, it's generally well run, maxed but I've never missed a payment, not overlimit blah blah, in fact they upped my limit a couple fo months ago (it was orignally 500) yet they refused me a bank account for no reason I could see!!

Have been reading about the Citibank Account on here and on the "Basic Bank Account" thread and wonder if its still easy to get an account. The thing that makes me wonder is because there appears to be an overdraft of £500 with the most basic Access account which I don't really want and don't want the fact of them having this as a factor in maybe turning me down.
I don't have a very good credit reference situation although no CCjs and no Bankruptcy ever. I do have a regular income though.
I have an account with Natwest which I want to close so hence my interest in applying at Citibank.
Any help or advice much appreciated.0 -
I don't have any o/d facility on my Citi account. So they can do it.
Do you mind if I ask how long you have had your account ? From the postings it appears they didn't offer this in the past when almost everyone was accepted. Anyone know if they still accepting most people for an account now?0 -
I opened the account 1 year ago. It took several weeks in total from the time I applied to the day the account was open. I had to make several chasing phone calls.
At that time I think the £500 overdarft was available upon request if you have your salary paid into the account.0 -

I think it just depends which way the wind is blowing really...some people with nothing on there credit rating don't get and some people with loads of defaults on there credit rating do get them...I think its pot luck really...the ask equifax and experian but didn't on my accounts I have had my account since January 2007 so nearly 2 two years it took around 21 days to get sorted from first applying online to the pins and cheque book dropping on the mat...but I have no OD I ticked the box which asks you if you want one and I ticked NO ...so thats why I don't have one...the have a citibank in London well quite afew there some in manchester and up in scotland I think I don't know about newcastle area...you give your money in via TSB bank and mostly online transfers takes 48 hours from HSBC to citibank account...

Well yes thanks for the reply I am interested.
The Citibank application is for my OH. So far she has only applied online and there was no mention on the form of an overdraft. Expect it will give the option on the paperwork when she gets that.
I have an HSBC current account and qualify for the over £500 one as I have more than that credited each month. I at present only have a Solo card but are you saying they are withdrawing these and will be issuing full visa cards in due course? Hope so0 -
