so I have gone nuts with citibank and it seems that it's all comet's fault in the first place place...I rang citibank today and apologised for my complaint about them they asked me if I wanted to re-open another account so I said yes I will give you another go so just waiting for all the stuff to come through the post eg: cards and pins...so I have another account with them but if I want to make a purchase over 300 which I will be doing in 6 weeks time I will use another account...makes sense really...:D

So are we all happy again? :p

did you ring them first and tell them or just spent on it and hoped for the best...my ff would have been £502.49 but it wouldn't go through although citi said comet weren't verifing it by visa so thats why it wouldn't go through....comet scam if you ask me...:D

Thats shocking with Comet, a similar thing happened to me with Curry's when I banked with Halifax they kept saying card was declined when infact they had taken the money out of my account.

Back to Citi Bank - No I have never called them to say that I am using my card for a larger transaction. So fingers crossed all will be ok for you now. I think in the last few mths they have sorted a few problems

    here's another question...
which accout do you have the access one or the £10 amonth one...
which card is it the cheque warranty card or the other one...
mine was the access account but with full cheque warranty on the card until they changed it in march I wasn't bothered I don't use cheques anyway and I know alot of shops wont take them anyway now...
I have gone for the access account again with the no cheque warranty card or book...but they said I can have a cheque book if I like I said I have already got one that I didn't use they then said you wont be able to use that one as that account is now closed ...lol...blonde hair day...moment...

I have the access account, I refused to upgrade to the rip off account

It's the standard card - No cheque gurantee card - I do have the cheque book though.

Hope that helps a little

  • Does the Citibank Access Account report to the credit agencies? If so, which ones? They don't appear on my Experian report and I've had the account since early last year before they split them into free and fee-paying accounts.
