I have just taken the time and read the thread again (not in all)
Okies lets check a few things – of all the members having problems using your card when the price is over £300 have you-
Received a new card? Or still have the original?
Made Citibank aware of this and asked for a full explanation?
Demanded compensation? They will give you it
When your card is declined – Keep note of time and date etc and keep emailing Citibank.
Since I received my new card I have used it for purchases of £1200 and £650 without any problems

Anyone had there cashback from Quidco?

I too got a letter saying there was an issue with some cards and mine was one of them. I received a new card, and like you said, It now works in places like Tesco Pay@Pump, But it didn't stop the £300+ transaction problem. Citibank say that there is no problem with my card/account but it still keeps happening..

After having money taken from my account twice for Mobile topup's in Saudi Arabia I've kinda given up with it :/

it's me computerwoman that was is now Ice so I got the thread back as I have been having problems with citibank since november really as that's when it first happened but after today I never want to speak to anyone at citiback ever again...
it was on watchdog about banks not letting you spend your money...it's MY money WHY all this hassel...
my fridge/freezer has broke down so I decided to buy a new one a big americian samsung one which today was the day when I'd saved up the money to buy it but the bank wont let comet have it...so annoying then its on hold but if comet dont claim it by midnight thursday then they'll put it back into my account well thank citibank you have just lost my custom I can not go through all this everytime I want to buy something over £300

I wondered what happened to you on the boards :D Sorry to hear of your troubles with your account.

I've not had many problems with my Citibank card although I got a new one last year when I changed it to a Cheque Guarantee card so maybe that's why. I can use it at Pay @ Pump and everything. The only time I've had it decline was trying to place a wager on a Bingo site (via Quidco). I called Citibank and they said it would refuse due to the US Patriot Act ...:o

They finally gave me an OD after being with them for 14 months so at the moment everything is fine with them.

Hi everyone yes computerwoman is now Ice silly but I got my account hacked and haven't been able to use it since...thats my mse account...
well the first problems I had was at the end of november got a new card last month or so it was only ever declined at the post office so I guess I should count my lucky stars on that one
the problem I have is when I go through quidco and want something over £300 like a tv or a PS3 or an americian fridge/freezer
if its under £300 they don't bother it goes through fine....
so I am still in a pickle with this
my money is still on hold
so I guess I will have to wait til friday and see what happens its £17.59 cashback with quidco so I am not gonna miss out on that
I will ring them again on friday morning and tell them that I am about to make a purchase as I am on the phone to them and see if they let it go through...
    as for compo
    they never give me any
but I know someone on here got £20 as a sorry oppps we fcuked up Again thing...
I am just fed up with them
one call should sort it out but it never does...like today 4-6 times I rang them good job its a freephone number
but comet is another story its a 08705 number and I had to ring it 4 times so god help my phone bill for next month...
I just think that since I have saved the money up surely I am entitled to spend it when and where I want...
    Ice xx:)

so in true "Shane of the Dead " style I have a plan...
this is what I am going to do...

go down to my sons bank "HSBC"
draw out £510 pounds from the inside the bank machine...
put it into my sons account
    come back home
    order the FF online
giving me the 10% discount worth £55 and the £17.59 cashback
    then finish painting the kitchen...

    job done...

that is the only way I am gonna be able to get the thing without going through citibank...

    worthless bank...
    :D

Can I just make you all aware of a small issue with the new cards.

You've already registered your old card and old card number with Citibank online, for which you have your username, password and 5 secret questions.

When your new card arrives, you have 3 months in which to activate your new card online BUT you will have to change your username, password and secret questions.

NB Citi are also having problems with their cards being cloned, both mine and hubby's have been done in Cardiff and someone using the numbers for cinema visits, on Friday, my card was stopped, without Citibank calling to contact me, my car was info MOT, no card, no cash. Citi alleged they tried to contact me, but they didn't...so...please keep an eye on your account activity, be aware of where you use your card in cash machines and keep your contact details up to date with Citi!

After speaking to someone in the St Pauls branch, Citi have had 300 incidents of card cloning alone last Friday, throughout the UK.

I cannot fault Citi's help in the matter though, card stopped Friday, new card, PIN, T-PIN and e-PIN arrive today and refunded fraudulent purchases within a day.
