Can I just make you all aware of a small issue with the new cards.

You've already registered your old card and old card number with Citibank online, for which you have your username, password and 5 secret questions.

When your new card arrives, you have 3 months in which to activate your new card online BUT you will have to change your username, password and secret questions.

NB Citi are also having problems with their cards being cloned, both mine and hubby's have been done in Cardiff and someone using the numbers for cinema visits, on Friday, my card was stopped, without Citibank calling to contact me, my car was info MOT, no card, no cash. Citi alleged they tried to contact me, but they didn't...so...please keep an eye on your account activity, be aware of where you use your card in cash machines and keep your contact details up to date with Citi!

After speaking to someone in the St Pauls branch, Citi have had 300 incidents of card cloning alone last Friday, throughout the UK.

I cannot fault Citi's help in the matter though, card stopped Friday, new card, PIN, T-PIN and e-PIN arrive today and refunded fraudulent purchases within a day.

old card was burnt on the bonfire and new card was sorted out within the day it arrived...
if I use an atm it's usually the one inside of the HSBC bank that one I know wont have been tampered with...
but the fact remains that I rang them yesterday morning and sent an intermal message regarding the fact that I was about to make this purchase...
    they said ok
    then they stopped the transaction...
so now my account reads that I have £693.07 on deposite but only £190.58 available because they wont give me it back until midnight tonight so yes I am alittle upset with them over this...
and it's not the first time this has happened...
    so I am off
why wont they just let me use my money it's my money not there's...

Ice, that sort of thing happened with my A&L account. With them it took a full 7 days for the money to be released back to me ...Luckily, much smaller amounts.

well the good news is I've got all my money back
the bad news is I can't afford that usa ff anymore as it's gone up to £699...
so I am having to get the Beko silver one instead but with a 5% code free del free collection of old ff and 3% cashback with quidco it's only costing me £1 more than i wanted to pay with comet...and it's in stock and can be delivered in 7days unlike comet who gave me a delivery date of 2nd june...so all being well I will be able to order it in the morning using my sons HSBC account...instead of citibank...and I can go to bed now happy...citibank have cost me £196.51 thats how much the usa ff has gone up thanks citibank I am not happy with you at all...
should I ask them to compensate me this amount and if so do you think I would get it off them...I don't think so...
nite all I can have sweet dreams:D
although I still have 7 days to finish off the kitchen...
    nite nite;)

Have you tried speaking to Citibank.
had an initial issue with my card declining amounts over £200 but I called them and got annoyed and had no problems since, got £25 goodwill gesture too.

I spoke to them 5 times on thursday they have given me nothing but a headache....as soon as I can I am leaving them
I sent them 3 internal messages rang them before and after the no sale and then sent them 2 more complaint messages and a letter as far as I am concerned they have lost a customer...
I had to use my DS's HSBC account instead and it went through with no problems
I am so sick of citibank
they said in the end the problem was with comet but how could it have been
anyway the most important thing is that I will get my new ff on wednesday...
