just to let you all know that as I made a large purchase through google-checkout citibank cancelled my cards and locked my accounts as it wasn't google-checkout that took the money I have been done over...but now that they and I am aware of this they can track down the person's responsible and get on to google-checkout to let them know they have been compromised...and hopefully sometime soon I will get my money back off the bank as they said they would give me it all back but when...
I don't know...we will have to wait and see...I am covered for this sort of thing so that's a releaf...cw:mad:

Hiya,
When someone was buying Mobile topups in the Middle East with my card, Citibank sent me a form, I had to get a Crime Reference number from the police and then I faxed it back to Citi. The money was returned to my account within 30 minutes

I think Citi are great. Have been with them almost a year now. Always found them to be efficient and good at sorting out any problems.
BTW - did anyone know that if you had "temporarily suspended" a Direct Debit with an Organisation, but they still go and take the money from your account that Citi will get it back for you?
I didn't until I was faced with this the other week. The people who took the money admitted that it was their mistake yet were !!!!!footing around and giving me a 101 reasons and excuses as to why they would not give me back my money.
One call to Citi and it was back in my account the following day.
Result! :T0 -
I must admit that citi are alot better at thing's than other top uk bank's...my money and loyalty will say with citi...I have even been given a substandial amount of compensation from the company involved with the fraud which citi asked them to make on my behalf so I am quid's in for christmas even though I thought great right on christmas just my luck but no because of citi I am now smiling and only after afew day's of thinking it was a ruined christmas...thankyou citi you have made my christmas...:j:j:j:D

Warning
I have now been with Citi bank for over 12mths and this is what I find wrong with them.
1- On 2 seperate occassions they have incorrectly charged me a overdrawn fee. They take a cheque out of my account twice. When they noticed there mistake it taken 48 hrs to sort out.
2- As a direct result of above I was then charge interest for being overdrawn, ok it was only 6 pence or so but its my 6pence.
3- Using your card alot or more than 3times in one day seems to be a problem, they decline your card on security grounds. Now I am really pis*ed off with that so I now demand the retailer call the auth centre despite it saying a straight decline.
4- When you email/call them to complain you get no where, However if you write to them you get a decent response.
Hope this helps a few peopleIf I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -
Nice to see this thread still alive!
I've not had any problems using my Citibank visa debit card yet although I only use it as a 2nd/backup account now that A&L have upgraded my electron to visa debit.0
