  • .....it grate's on me abit that some people can blame citi for what ever but they never think to look at themselves for the blame...don't use shop's that are not chip n pin simple...make sure you have enough money left in your account for your DD's before you go shopping...simple really...:D

    Life isn't that simple Computerwoman..

I have a Visa Debit/Delta card from Citibank. A Shop displays that they accept Visa Debit/Delta then I should be able to shop there. I shouldn't have to then think "have I got enough money incase Citibank decline the Transaction or the shop don't do Chip & Pin".

It's not the shop or the pay @ Pump or whereever's fault the card is declined, It's decided by Citibank. Not shopping at a particular shop is not going to have that much effect as Citibank is pretty much small fry in the country at the moment, and other Banks don't seem to have this problem.

It's not like theres any pattern to it! I could accept it if it was just non Chip & Pin shops, Buy why not Pay @ Pump at ASDA as you have to enter your PIN to get any fuel, and as you said, you had trouble at the Post Office.. Why?!? The PO is fully Chip & Pin now!

Seriously, I think I can shop in more places with my Halifax Electron card at the moment :(

[And this isn't a dig at you personally Computerwoman, I'm just saying as it is, It's not the shops fault but Citibanks!]

  • I'm about to pay a large cheque into my Citibank account at the local LloydsTSB branch. I've got a feeling that the old fashioned staff there will have no idea that Citibank customers can do this in LloydsTSB or indeed of heard of Citibank. I think I will just post it to Alliance & Leicester like I usually do when I get cheques to deposit. To avoid any embarrisment :)

My PINs arrived today, so I guess that's me in then :)

Five log years with a cashpoint card rather than a debit card has done my nut in.

I know that that sounds foolish, but it's true

  • Hmmm, I've not had any probs paying cash/cheques in at Lloyds TSB.

However on a diff. note, I did request some pre-paid envelopes last week online, to which they replied that they were sending me the paying-in book I requested (eh?!). Anyway, I expected to receive about 5 or so envelopes, but nope I got 60 (!) this morning in 3 separate Jiffy bags, with 3 diff. dated letters. Think I'm sorted for life now! In the past they've also sent me 3 paying-in books and 2 cheque books for some unknown reason.

Don't think they have a Scooby.

    I'm sure I will be :)

I wont be causing any problems for Citi, as long as they can provide hassle free banking in return I'll be delighted.
