last year there was a similar discussion and people compared frequency of shops, cost etc and it seemed completely rndom who got the slots.
In fact last year when I shopped every week and had both my boys home and so spent more I didn't get offered one. This year the boys have gone to uni, I am spending less per week and not shopping so frequently and had the email yesterday.0 -
            Info re Tesco slots here
I'm not supposed to post links as a new user apparently but
www. tesco. com / christmasgrocerydeliveries/ - take out the spaces and it will work!
Looks like it starts from midnight tonight. I would book from tonight but we are in New York until the 23rd - don't fancy shopping xmas eve jetlagged!0 -
            thanks for the link.
I had the advance email last year - but not this time.
I do not know how you found that Tesco info page as I failed to find it.
I will also be up each night now clicking forward a day at a time till I get to 22nd!!
Tesco's are pretty bad at not letting us regular customers know the time scale and I will email them about it. SUrely we could all have been told this schedule without us all going on here and pondering what will happen - its the same every year.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Pah, I also have a shop delivered every week. No email for me, grrrr.0

Just booked mine for the 23rd. Was just debating though whether to change it to a 'click and collect order' to save the £5 delivery charge as click and collect is currently free until jan?? Then again if we do have even a sprinkling of snow i won't want to go out driving in it with the kids so may just leave it as it is hmmmm.Busy mummy of 4.:j0

We know how important being organised for the festive period is and how busy you are at this time of year. We wanted to clarify to all our customers how we allocate the Christmas week delivery slots.
Some of our most regular customers are offered delivery slots for the Christmas week a little earlier, to say thank you.
They're chosen purely and simply because of how often they shop and how much they’ve spent on their groceries online over the last 6 months.
We think this is the fairest way as it is worked out over a long period of time and doesn’t penalise either those customers doing smaller weekly shops or those customers doing much larger occasional shops. We do this on a store by store basis.
We let eligible customers know in an email, sent on Monday 28th November, that they can book their Christmas delivery slot.
We know this means that many loyal shoppers won’t be in this list. We’d love to offer early slots to everyone but we simply don’t have enough slots. However, there is still a chance to get a Christmas slot.
So, how can you book your Christmas Delivery this year?
Well, from Wednesday 30th November ALL customers will have the chance to book slots in the Christmas week.
We hold back slots on all days, at all times, in all stores for the Christmas week so that all customers have a chance to book a Christmas slot that will suit them. These slots will become available on a rolling daily basis to book at one minute past midnight as follows:
To book a slot on: Booking opens:
Tuesday 20th December - 12.01am Wednesday 30th November
Wednesday 21st December - 12.01am Thursday 1st December
Thursday 22nd December - 12.01am Friday 2nd December
Friday 23rd December - 12.01am Saturday 3rd December
Saturday 24th December -
(selected stores in London only) 12.01am Sunday 4th December
Demand for the Christmas slots is expected to be very high so you’ll need to be quick!
We’re sorry if you don’t get the slot you would have liked. We hope this information helps, and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

but then if we have a sprinkling of snow, the country will be at a standstill and if anything like this year, neither Tesco or Asda delivered in the snow...the only one was Ocado if I remember correctly0 -
I had my Tesco's delivery last 22nd Dec in snow so was delighted - gave driver £5!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

I had my Christmas Asda delivery on the 23rd in the snow but with half of it missing as many items were OOS. I don't know whether to risk it this year as I still ended ip battling through the snow and crowds in Asda on Christmas Eve last year .0
