Barclaycard 11% cashback application problem

I get it now - thanks for your patience! And ignore the previous calcs. I spotted a flaw!

So, I called to activate this morning - call went through to a UK call centre, spoke to a very pleasant and helpful person called Catherine who was superb - confirmed the 11% cashback, and arranged the balance transfer.

When I confirmed that I only wanted to transfer the £100, she laughed and said that she hadn't done a "full" balance transfer for anyone so far on this offer ... she then added my wife as a cardholder, set up a direct debit to pay the card in full, advised me that the d.d. probably wouldn't be processed in time to make the first payment so I should assume that I would need to make that one myself.

All in all, perfect service, well informed and I have everything I want. Quite pleased to see that the card has "Wave and Pay" facility too. Hopefully it will actually work on this one, as opposed to the Amex one I had where it seemed only to work in about 20% of the places I tried it (even when they did accept Amex).

I suppose I should add that I had to persevere somewhat with the initial application - the first three or four times I tried, I encountered various errors on the website but it eventually went through.

After that, I had no real problems at all really. Now to get spending! Not 100% sure I'll get through £909 by Dec 31st, but should get through enough to make it worthwhile. Especially if petrol and shopping go on it for December, haha!

I went into a branch to apply for this card on the 23rd but the woman in there didn't seem to know about the 11% cash back and signed me up for a card that matched the other details such as 0% on balance transfers and rewards. I received the card today but there was no mention of the 11% cash back. I went into a different branch to ask if it was the right card but they had never heard of the 11% either. After coming on here and finding the link to the card application (impossible to find on your own!) I called customer services to ask if I had the right card. The woman kept telling me I did but had to tell her several times it must not be as she had not heard of the 11% cash back either and I was reading her the details of the card from the website. After a while of trying to convince her of the card she went to check and came back saying yes it does exist she had just not been told about it. Apparently it does apply on my card so I did my £100 balance transfer and hopefully all will be good now. I am a little skeptical as people kept saying you could only apply online but hopefully I will get my cash back!

I applied on the 23rd November and received my card today.

No mention of 11% cash back.

On the activation phone I spoke to a helpful chap who informed me that he thought the deal was closed on the 18th November. I informed him that I had a screen shot from the Barclay Card Website showing the deal which I applied for. He went away said that was fine and I qualified for the deal. He said that if there was to be a dispute in January that I had the deal in black and white and therefore they would have to honour the deal.

As I said, helpful chap, easily sorted.

I have my card! I applied on the 17th.

Card activated, cashback confirmed, balance transfer done for £100 and set up the DD to pay in full each month.

Am off spending......

Is it possible that you (or anyone else that has one) could e-mail that screenshot to me or post it on here? I'm yet to receive my card and foolishly never took a screenshot. I've got visions of hassle at the call centre, with nothing to back it up when it finally does arrive!!

Applied on 18th November, set up £250 BT, immediate acceptance.

Tuesday 22nd, received card, activated card. Set up Direct Debit.

24th Nov Barclaycard On-line account shows £250 + fee , but BT credit card account does not show £250 payment.

Send Barclaycard an e-mail about PIN.
E-mail Reply says PIN was sent on 22nd Nov.

29th Nov, Still no PIN. The other credit card on-line account shows it received £250 on 29th Nov.

I now have exactly 31 days to spend £909.

Car insurance will be about £500, the rest is easy.
