Barclaycard 11% cashback application problem

£100 cashback appeared on my online account, dated 19th January 2012.
Just in time for car insurance renewal. So £500 premium ended up as £445.
I really don't understand how this deal works for Barclaycard.
If you Balance Transfer £3,846, the BT Fee is £100 at 2.6%
With the £100 cashback, you effectively get £3,846 for 18th months for free.
If Barclard gets 2% merchant commission on the £909 spend, they earn £18.18, which is only 0.47% on £3,846.
I assume I can't get another deal if I already have a Barclaycard.
So, 18 months down the line, I will have to cancel this card (after balance transfer out) in order to benefit from another offer. What does Barclaycard gain?0 -
Result of my complaint - Good news.
History:
Applied for the 11% Cashback credit card. Had loads of trouble with customer services and their systems going down. When the papers finally arrived there was no mention of 11% cashback. When I phoned, I was told that the offer ended before I applied (then why was it available on line?). I had taken screen shots, so I sent in a letter of complaint with the screen shots asking for £100 compensation because I could have applied for a different cash back card if Barclays didn't have this offer.
Outcome:
Barclays have said sorry and have agreed to pay me £100.
Thanks Barclaycard. Best of luck in sorting out your problems and getting your act together next time.0 -
I am just checking if anyone who got their barclaycard in time to take advantage of the cashback but has not received any cashback on the February statement. I received verbal confirmation that I would receive cashback before Febuary but now that I have received February statement there is no cashback. Before I speak to Barclaycard I just wondered if any one esle had encountered the same situation.
Thank you.0 -
Sorry if there is another thread opened.
I am having problems getting my cashback.
Not on my February statement. So I sent a message via the secure system on the website. First reply I get is about the late reply to applications and £100 GOGW. I wrote to them a second timing pointing out this is not what I asked. Then I got a message to say I was not entitled to this cashback! I phoned then and I was told I did not check the correct box on my application (Do remember needing to check a box!). I pointed out my send paatern and the balance transfer. Then got told it would be paid after 60 days and should appear at the end of February. Still not convinced, so just sent the following message ....
Hello,
Further to the message I sent this morning, I have spoken to ********** who has confirm that the 11% cashback will apply after 60 days and I should have my cashback at the end of February
Can you please confirm this will happen
Is it just me having problems?0 -
Same here, complied with all instructions to qualify for cashback, card was a long time coming but I managed to hit the max spend in the time allowed . Completed the balance transfer over the 'phone with Barclaycard and the cashback deal was acknowledged.
February statement rolls around and guess what, no cashback.
Have e-mailed Barclaycard, will update thread with their response.0 -
Ho, ho!
Someone at Barclaycard has a sense of humour.

Hmmmm - sounds like they trying to say you have a different card - "Barclaycard Cashback MasterCard account" as opposed to the Barclaycard Platinum thing.
Good luck with it - like the link!0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for your comments – we’re sorry to hear that you’re unhappy.
We have identified that, whilst the vast majority of customers received their cashback in February as expected, there is a group of approximately 200 customers who qualified for the offer, but are yet to receive their cashback. This is due to an operational issue, and these customers will receive their cashback in March and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will always honour the offers we make to our customers and we thank MSE for bringing this issue to our attention.
If a customer has any questions about this offer they can contact us to at webrelations@barclaycard.co.uk.
We appreciate you taking the time to raise your issues on this forum. We try hard to get things right first time; however, we do recognise that sometimes mistakes are made. We’ve ensured that each account impacted by the above mentioned error is amended to correctly apply the cashback. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Dear All,
Just an update to say I contacted customer services by phone and got a load of guff no help and misleading, sent an email to webrelations and was contacted to say full cashback amount will be credited to my card. Other customers they have identified will also receive cashback during March.
If your not having any joy with customer services give webrelations a try.
Hope this helps.
Thank you Barclaycard for getting there in the end.0
