0844 811 9111 is expensive! 28 minutes call cost £1.53 from a BT AnyTime landline.

Tried 01642 332308 today, Internet customer services, supposedly for overseas. Seems to work like normal.

Tried to do a £250 (minimum for online BT) Balance Transfer online, Mybarclaycard system won't let me do it. Called 01642 332308,
and the transfer went through with no problems.

Still no PIN. Confirmed PIN was requested 22nd November, again.
  • I had no written proof the my card entitles me to the 11% cashback. So having persisted in finding how to send a secure message of light complaint on Barclaycard's website I sent my message earlier today.
This afternoon I was phoned by a Barclaycard person with an Indian accent.
He confirmed that I am eligible for the 11% cashback and gave me his name.

All the hassle and concern I've read in this forum that people are having in getting confirmation that their new Barclaycard gets them 11% cashback could have been avoided by a statement in the letter with the delivery of the card.
  • I was told my PIN was posted the same day as my card (25th). I received my card on Tuesday, still no PIN though.

I have registered online and requested a PIN reminder, lets see how long that takes!
  • I applied on the 17th.... still no card or PIN. I rang last week to chase and was told I would get it on Monday....it's now Thursday. The did say that I had managed to apply twice! - the first time I applied the browser just hung, so I went back a step and refreshed and must have made 2 applications. The 2nd will be automatically cancelled apparently.

They obviously weren't geared up for the interest that this card would bring - you would think an orgainisation like Barclaycard would be better prepared. The marketing men must dream up with these deals with no real thought over the aggro the customer will get when their CS staff can't handle the demand.

I know some have got this deal hassle-free, but my experience with BC to date has been pretty poor - if it doesn't come soon there's little point!

I have just got my declined letter. Shocked is not the word. I have never been declined before in my life. Complete W*****S. What is the point of phoning me up to confirm that I have applied for the card and ask me to confirm my ID, Twice I might add, only to be DECLINED. over 2 weeks later completly discusting.

Just got off the phone to the Indian call centre - worse than useless springs to mind. The only way I can communicate to someone from their approvals department is via post...no e-mail and I can't speak to them on the phone. Do they live in some sort of 18th century time warp?
She then said I may get a letter in the post in the next 2 or 3 days that I would have to sign and send back to them before they can continue with my application...I've never heard anything like it. If it ever does finally arrive, it'll be mid-December and not even worth it.....not impressed with Barclaycard one bit. :-(

I applied for this on the 19th of November. Had no confirmation that the application was received, so phoned customer service. They said it wasn't received and I should apply again. I applied again. They confirmed it was received. Waited for a week and had no response. Phoned again and was told there are 2 applications, so they cancelled one. It's now the 5th of December and I've not received anything. I've phoned 3/4 times now and every time they say "the system is down". I've sent a letter and a fax, but still no response. I also think that 11% offer isn't going any more, but luckily I took screen shots of the offer. This 11% cash back from Barclays is looking bleak.

Balance xferred £101 from 1% cashback Capital One card then asked a shop from which in september I'd already ordered handmade furniture to take a lump sum payment from Barclaycard and then refund my Capital One card for the same amount. Will have the credit card debt paid off by mid January and then in february can look forward to the £100 cashback. I look at that as an extra discount on my furniture on top of the 10% the shop gave me....nice
  • Barclaycard Platinum finally arrived in post last night, just opened the envelope to find a credit limit of £250. I think this is going to stretch my ability to make full use of the 11% cashback. I need to do a transfer of £100 first at a cost of £2.60 then if I spend exactly £150 I
should be able to earn £13.9 after fees. This seems like a great way for Barclaycard to have a headline grabbing story then not deliver on it. Tempted just to send the card back equally tempted to phone tomorrow and have a rant. I had been holding back on Christmas shopping for this card and am now going to have to change some presents araound. I'll just let Aunty know Barclaycard have her present.
