My Hermes lady is superb. She creeps up the drive so as not to set the dogs off, will leave her tel no to give her a call if i'm not in (she lives 5 mins away) Alway asks after family etc and is very courteous and friendly.2 angels in heaven :A0

I am presuming you don't get many parcels delivered by Royal Mail.
Quite a number of small items actually, particularly for my business. Granted their rate of losses is terrific, we lose letters on a weekly basis, but stuff generally turns up in a useable condition. I'd rather stuff was sent via them over Hermes any day!0 -
@ Flyboy152 - Are you a Hemes agent by any chance??0

My ladys and hubby are lovely too. I have her phone number if there is a problem I tell them when I'm away and they hang onto any parcels for me till I get back.

No, but I helped out a friend last year when he as on holiday. It was something of an eye-opener. I didn't have much on and he was desperate to find someone to help. I also used to think that couriers were nothing more than shiftless charlatans, being lazy and incompetent. It's funny, how seeing it from the inside changes ones perspective. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

A previous time they said they'd called and I was out, yet I had been in all day, and in a room overlooking the front door.
My heart sinks when I see herpes are responsible for getting my goods to me.
I cannot believe this. Another delivery, this time Amazon's, went to the same wrong house, yesterday. So I tried to contact Hermes and the website response after putting in all the details on their contact form is; just go away and contact your retailer.0 -
So.....maybe your parents should have not been on the phone and they would have heard the bell ring.
there is no doorbell, i was on the phone to them so between me, my parents and my brother, one of us would have heard them knocking

Shocker! My postie managed to deliver my package WITHOUT throwing it at the house wall from her van. Maybe Hermes could learn from this?0

Had my first taste of them last week too...
Parcel status stated 'left in porch' - we searched the garden, the bins, under the car! Not a trace and no card. I can only assume it was left in plain sight and stolen, or left at least 2 doors down since my direct neighbours are happy to keep parcels.
Debenhams re-sent the parcel, luckily I was sat in this time and caught him at the front door0 -

Hermes service is a 3-5 working day.
I'm betting it's the super-saver delivery you chose?0
