I just watched our local Hermes driver (a new one it seems) drive into our yard, throw my package at the wall, and drive off again. I wouldn't have beleived it if I hadn't seen it.

    And you know that how?
I'll be honest, it's an educated guess from the out of date tax disc and keying in the registration number to 'askMid'. No insurance and tax would usually suggest no MOT, but I don't know so next time I see it - I'll call the Police instead.

Nonsense. Cigarette smoke does not go through plastic. It is nothing to do with you who he has in his car.
When the item is open at the bottom, and on a hanger (as many items from Next are shipped) you'll find the smoke easily gets in and makes the new item of clothing smell.

What have your neighbours said about that? The couriers don't get paid to store it. I hope you have told all your neighbours to never help you out.
    1: don't know, not asked
2: they get paid to deliver it to the recipient - not anyone they can find
3: actually yes - one old dear who used to take in parcels for me, I told her to stop doing it as it was not convenient for me or her.

Most of them, so best of luck with your faux boycott.
Thanks - I appreciate your good wishes. I don't get much from Hermes, but when I do I always refuse it. Amazon are excellent and will resend it with RM. Next - well, they don't matter anymore.
  • We have had a few deliveries via Hermes I think M & M Direct use them. Once the guy was a bit unhelpful when I called but then all the other times we got this other guy when we moved who was really helpful when you called him and was happy for you to nip to his home in the evening and pick up your package which we did a few times and was really convenient for us.

Had my first experience with Hermes this week when I ordered something from Next.

Was told via email that my parcel was "left in a secure location", which was strange as we don't have a porch, shed etc, got home and they'd just left it by the back door. Yes, very secure.

    oh g*d, i am dreading this !

i have one on its way from amazon, didnt know they were using this lot until it was too late. APparently they tried to deliver my order last night, which is really odd because i was on the phone to my parents at the exact same time, which is where the parcel is being delivered.

Today it has been "out for delivery" since 4.35am

not holding out too much hope of it being delivered this week :-(

The Hermes Website said mine was left in an Outbuilding on Tuesday. They turned up and threw it at the hosue this morning, their couriers just lie and no one seems to care. Customers at this end can't even contact Hermes! Thankfully Amazon have redispatched my item via Royal Mail. At least when they don't lose things they turn up in reasonable condition!

So.....maybe your parents should have not been on the phone and they would have heard the bell ring. ;)

I am presuming you don't get many parcels delivered by Royal Mail. ;)

I am also suffering the curse of Hermes:mad: Again an Amazon delivery - the tracking says it was delivered at 6.30pm to an outbuilding. This is rather odd as I was at home then (in fact I've been at home all day). Secondly, I don't have an outbuilding or anything resembling an outbuilding. I've look in my (small) front garden under bushes just in case, but nothing.

I've called Amazon, who say they are going to refund, but I am going to call Hermes tomorrow and see what they consider an outbuilding is - an more imortantly where the outbuilding on my property is.

Hermes will not respond, you have to go through Amazon.
