Is the '3' £17.50 18 month contract the best deal?

  • When I spoke to them yesterday they had refurb LG U300 & U400 in stock. The U300 was with £213.85 credit on a £25 18 month T&T200 deal, the U400 with £77.55 credit, 3.5 months free (or half can't remember) on a 12 month deal. Think they also had the K100 and N73?

I didn't write down the 500/100 deal specs I'm afraid, you will have to contact them and ask them. I think the contract is £30 a month, but then you have to see what discount deal and credit they willl off you for your circumstances.

Cheaper phones they provide inc the Nokia 6280 which has a few issues, or the SE 610i. You could get a contract only deal from 3 and look for a good PAYG deal from somewhere else with the phone you want use on 3?

I'm in the last month of my contract, just about to claim my 3rd cashback from TheLink. Had no problems with the first 2. I now need to see if I want the hassle of another cashback deal, port my number to a new provider, or have a new number with 3. Or accept the offer direct from 3 - they are very good deals imo.

My friend has a 3 phone that she isnt going to use and seeing as mine is no good and they dont have a handset for the cheap deal could I try and get a deal for a contract without a handset and use hers? I mean as her sim has been in it will it let mine go in for me to use it?
    Thanx

You should be able to use your sim in another Three phone, but consider the offers before you decided. Please phone 333, option 1, then 5, then 2 (think it is 2 - thinking of leaving Three) - see what offers they have and report back (I reported what they offered me on another thread - T&T200, Nokia 6280, 10.25 months free on 12 month contract) but am interested to see what else they are offering as they have changed my offer since last week when I actually accepted it (!) which was 10.5 months free on 12 month contract with a SE K610i. This was still less than others were being offered - seems to change by the day (hour) and who you speak to.

If you are right near the end of your contract, remember what time you phoned to give them 30 days notice as it does go off at that time (ie if you phoned at 10am, it is disconnected at 10am 30 days later), not the end of the day.

Is there any 18 month half price phones left, or will there be new ones on offer after the end of the month?

If you go to the 'live' chat person on the three website and pretend to ask some questions about buying a phone, they will give you a code for a free bluetooth headset valid for that day only (you can always ask again another day when you want to purchase).

Here's an example of the nokia 6280 (new) on the direct talker 1000 contract

    Nokia 6280 - free
    750 anytime, any network minutes
    150 texts
50 UK Video Minutes anytime, any network
50 UK photo or video messages
    £5 Free downloads

    £35 a month (£17.50 for 15 months - automatically applied)
Free 512mb memory card while stocks last
Free bluetooth headset (with code from 'live chat' assistant)
    £100 cashback with quidco

It works out to about £9 a month.

The great thing about 3 at tis that your inclusive minutes and texts can be used in selected countries (where 3 are operational) for calling or texting the UK. Its perfect for me as I go to Hong Kong quite often. So my minutes and texts can be used when I'm in Hong Kong to call the UK. No roaming charges either.

Before anyone asks, no I don't work for Three.

gotta love MSE! how would i survive without - very much liking the idea of the £17.50 deal. fancy either 6280 or 6233... anyone had any good/bad experiences with either of these phones on 3?

I had boyth and my brothers got the 6280, I got the 6233 from '3' and really like it, excellent features, lookswise isnt that good. Depends really but in terms of features and realiability the 6233 is better in my opinion.
