Is the '3' £17.50 18 month contract the best deal?
Comments

I got two contracts from '3' in the past month. I got the £17.50 18 month deal, hence, the title of this thread and then I opened the £15 for 500 mins for life deal just for the phone (LG U400).
Both got tracked but the first £100 which got tracked was declined and am persuing Quidco now!
The offer they were offering is not even better than the offer on their website which is available to everyone? ? ? ? They should be beating those offers to keep you.

I just found out that the ones with and 'r' are reburbished phones so its put me off. They said it was still 12 months warranty but is there any difference to the warranty like if there are really bad problems would they replace the phone rather than repair?Thanx

I've just had another call from 3 retentions. They are still offering me 500mins/100texts for £60 for the year (no phone), but now also have 100/100 at £25ish or with a phone for £37ish for the whole year (can't quite remember as I was driving and didn't write it down)0

What happens if I dont get a deal I want for tomorrow when my contract officially ends?
I know it will continue till I use a pac code or run out a 30 day notice. But I just wondered how it will go as far as getting a new 12 or 18 month deal is concerned would I be in a good or bad position?Thanx

It looks like its on offer to anyone who is with 3. You have to understand what the deal is, I found some more info out this eve. Plus you have to bear in mind that you can upgrade after 10 months and it seems it is forgotten to take this into account.
For example the 200mins + 100texts deal (no phone) is £25 a month. Your 'special 3 deal' is that they give you 9 months at half price, plus a credit of 126.90. Your credit will be paying your tariff - 9 months @ £12.50 = £112.50 leaving you £14.40. This pays off some of month 10 leaving you £15.60 to find. They assume you will then upgrade onto a new contract so you do not pay the remaining 2 months so you get 10 months for £15.60. If you do not upgrade you will have to pay the remaining 2 months @ £50 to complete the contract.
So really you could say the year is £65.60 but you could save £50 by upgrading after month 10. The amount of credit and half price months vary from deal to deal, by what phone you have if you have a new one, and varys between customers too.
Hope this helps - just give them a ring on 333 before the contract ends. They do have some refurb phones left also.0 -
