Is the '3' £17.50 18 month contract the best deal?

I think I might have noticed a critical flaw in this deal. Read this page http://www.three.co.uk/personal/price_plans_/pay_monthly_/plan_detail.omp?cid=1145620883835
Notice at the top it says "£17.50 for upto 18 months" Read the asterisk marked sections below and it says you only get the full 18 months half price rental if you have the LG U890, LG U300 & LG U8360
All other phones come with varying discounts. 6 months, 8 months, 10 months and 12 months.
Was everyone already aware of this? It's just that I hadn't seen anyone mention this before. It means that if you went for any of these Nokia N93, Motorolla V3xx and Sony Ericsson LG U830, you will only be getting 6 months half price.0 -
Nope. Your wrong there....on the clearance section there are a few phones which are half price for a certain period only, but phones such as the Nokia 6233, Motorola v3x and a few others are half price for the full 18 months.
Im sure everyone is aware of this by now
I certainly knew about this because if they had say for example a W850i half price for 18 months why would anyone bother getting any other model...even if they wanted another one they could get this, sell it and use the money to buy the phone they wanted and have some spare cash left over!
Ok. Time to go bed!

Ok no prob. Just thought it looked a bit suspicious. I think I was confusing the new phones with the reconditioned ones.0 -

But the member of staff did say with three you are entitled to a new months after the first 12 months (on a 18 month contract) is this the same with online offers?
Sorry I meant : "the member of staff did say with three you are entitled to a new phone after the first 12 months (on a 18 month contract) is this the same with online offers?SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -

Are you sure they said they would give you a new phone, I also went into a three shop the other day and the manager said that the reason they were promoting 18 month contracts so much now is that they don't make enough money on a 12 month contract and that they don't start making money until after month 10, plus definitely on the Sony Ericcson phones and I'm sure he said on all the phones they sell they give a 2 year guarantee.0 -
I've just received my phone from 3 for the £17.50 deal. I can recommend going for the 'refurbished' phones, as they seem to be absolutely brand new - the only use I can detect is that they don't come in the original box. Mine definitely hasn't been used and returned.
A minor gripe - I specified a Saturday delivery date, and they delivered it the very next day (Tuesday) when I was at work.0 -

Did the next day one come by courier? I ordered mine on a friday and it came by Royal Mail special delivery the very next day. Much better option for me as the other option (Citylink) have their depot 50 odd miles away but the local sorting office is just down the road (or you can get it delivered to a post office).
I try to avoid Citylink these days as their delivery time is 'sometime that day' and the depots are pretty distant for me. Saying that though, last time I had to get something by Citylink, I left a mobile number on the inside of the door and met up with the courier elsewhere to get the goods.
Just thought others might be interested.
Cheers

Hmm, I had problems with my refurbished N73 (a button on the side was broken) but they did immediately send another which arrived the next day. The thing is, turns out this new one has a few technical problems! I'd say going for refurbished isn't worth it.0

Yes mine came by Special D too, but I specified the weekend so I could be there to collect it - they sent it on a Tuesday anyway.
OH did the same thing and again specified a Saturday delivery, and again it came the very next (week) day. Ah well.0 -
I just rang retentions and they offered me the:
sony ericson k610i for:
400 mins and 250 texts = vtt 700
or
750 mins and 150 texts = direct talker 1000
for half price for 12 months on a 12 month contract £17.50 a month
I said I prefered the sony ericson z610i but they dont have it in stock and may not get it back in either so he offered me 12 months contract for £10 a month on any of the above packages so I can buy my own phone
Is that a good deal?
And has anyone used the sony ericsopn k610i? If so is it ok?
Hoe much would it be to buy the nokia phone and wheres the best place to buy plus if it went wrong would I have problems getting it fixed doing it that way?Thanx
