Is the '3' £17.50 18 month contract the best deal?

Latest Update for me
My quidco query with three is still awaiting processing (for the £100 amount)
I phoned three just now and the customer service rep said that on the bill the £17.50 (half price line rentle) will show for 6 months. On the 7th bill it will show for another 6 month and on the 13 bill it will show for another 6 months.
I did not receive any letter from them when my new phone arrived regarding the half price line rentle.
So what i advise people to do is when they take out their new contract with three to ring them up and confirm with them and tell them to make a note on the system about you ringing up regarding this half price line rentl.
This is to ensure that after six month they dont start charging the full line rentle. You have therefore covered your back.0 -
Hi, I couldn't see any stage during the 3 application to enter a pac code to transfer my exisiting phone number - is this possible if I apply online?
Thanks!0 -
I was told by three that I could transfer my existing number anytime I liked by calling customer services with the pac code.. I want to transfer a number but have still got two months on the contract to go..sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0

Yes, you can. There's no option as you're signing up but once you've got the phone you can phone up the customer services bunch and arrange the transfer. Not sure if you need to do it within a certain time period though
Cheers

Thanks for this Ali. I would re-inforce your comment that we should ring three just to confirm that this will be the case. See the cautionary post from user Brainhertz at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=193&page=30.

I told them to confirm in wrioting and the customer service rep started laughing and said sir dont worry your half price line rentle is for 18 month. Does not matter because i have the confirmation email from them stating the 18 month half price line rentle if i need to take them to court. :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Yeah, I took screen prints when I purchased the offer....0

I was in town today and happened to walk past the three shop so decided to see if they had any other offers which might be better.... they didn't (quidco kills any store offers)
But the member of staff did say with three you are entitled to a new months after the first 12 months (on a 18 month contract) is this the same with online offers?SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -

Sorry what do you mean by new months???
Update on me.
received my first bill and it says £17.50, but however it does not menthion the half price line rentle for 18 month. Back on the phone for me i think.:rotfl:
Quidco still awaiting for the £100 query0 -
I hope this deal is kosher, I've just thrown caution to the wind and got the 18 month £17.50 deal. Went through Quidco, obviously. All because Vodafone (who I've been with since 1996) annoyed me! Hey ho, their loss and hopefully my gain.
Thanks to advice on thread above I really shopped around before getting a new phone this time, instead of just trying to haggle with Voda. On paper this deal looks like an absolute steal so fingers crossed!
Cheers all.0
