I bought the Nokia N80 (excellent phone with wifi and series 60 3rd edition) with Direct Talker 1000 (750 xnet minutes 150 txts 50 video mins......and more)

    £17.50 x 18 months = £315 - quidco £70 & £30 reccomend a friend (if it goes through)

Total for the whole 18 month contract = £215

    Montly = £11.94:money: :money: :money:

A BIG Thank You to the person who started this thred :T

ali137 why £70 with quidco and not £100. When I last looked it was only the £15 deal that was £70.

You only get £70 if you buy the £15 lifetime deal from '3'.

Thats what i thought as well, i will have to raise this with quidco. On quidco it says £70 for contracts on the new **Video Talk 500** tariff (£15 per month) or DT675 tariff. The tarriff i choose is not DT675 tariff, i saw another number on the order confirmation page.

I would have used you as a referer lazymoezy, but my sister is on three and she is a student who is S.K.I.N.T. Sorry !!!
  • oh no.... just checked on quidco that you only get £70 for getting the **Video Talk 500** tariff (http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilities/mobile-phones-plans/3-mobile/)

when did this change? because when I bought the deal via quidco, it was showing me £100 for all deals.

my quidco account is still showing the order as "Tracked" for £100 the past week. now i am not sure if I will get £100 or £70
  • Hi
DD needs a phone, she is on a v expensive PAYG on O2 (ver old SIM!!) we put £10/month approx and she is very frugal using it.

She is 13 and pretty responsible. I think she'd love a new phone, DH rather thinks it would break or she'd loose it (neither of the old phones she's had so far has she lost or broken). He wants to get her a SIM only deal (such as the virgin £20/month one). I think I cam make a case for the 3 £15/month 75mins/600 texts esp if I can get the £100 quidco (also heard about the "recommend a friend thing for £30 but I don't know anything about this yet!).

Have signed up for Quidco today and made a small tchibo order via them to see what happens- nothing is showing in transactions yet- is this normal- I went theroght the link from quidco????

Advise me guys and help me swing the deal with DH!!

  • did one for my son before xmas and have just been paid.. make sure you clear all cookies and i also clear all temp internet files. through quidco click on the 3 website and go ahead and order fone.. if you make a mistake may be best to wait a few hours and restart over.. as a back up i also always make a note of what time and date i ordered in case i have to make an enquiry. i have just been paid a total of £350 from quidco for buying the fone and renewing insurance.. go for it
  • just like to add that 3 have a fab offer now of £15 a month for life and i think its for 500 mins but be careful as 3 is 3G which has fabulous downloads, videos etc which kids are tempted with. BUt i think i read somewhere that the msn messenger service is free

    Me too!!!

I took out the Direct Talker 1000 & Quidco is showing £70 rather than the £100 I was expecting. I've logged a query with Quidco that they in turn will submit to 3. I'll keep you informed on the outcome.

    Morning Nicola,

my dd 14 is just finishing her 2nd contract 1st year was a t-mobile with free phone though e-2-save and second on 02 through caprhone warehouse, she wanted a new phone with her birthday money and the phone was over a £100.00 I saw an offer on this site and it worked out that if I put the £100.00 into the bank (I opened a separate current account) then the money would be taken from there and at each cashback I paid the cash back so we never actually paid anything towards it and at the end of the contract she still had money in the bank, and she'd had a new phone 200 mins 100 text everymonth for a year, it was one of the 12 month free line rentals deals, as the 1st contract went well we did it again last year as she'd been so responsible and wanted another new phone so we got the Nokia 6111 as soon as it came out on a a nearly 12 month free which went well until she made a new friend at school slept over at her house and when she was asleep the friend called ger boyfiend all night and went over the minutes, I did go to see the parents and they paid what she had used, but I personally think that 1 mistake in 2 years is pretty good and we have now just given notice on this phone so looking for a new cheapy deal again, so for me it has worked well, my DS has a payg and would like a contract but no way!! he never knows where his phone is so he's on 02 payg £10.00 per month and for that he gets 300 texts and £10.00 of credit and that will normally last over a month.

Hope this helps I really think it depends on the child and make sure you use a good company, three, e2save, carphone warehouse, phones4u, dialaphone I wouldn't use any of the newer companies until they have been around a while
a please & thank you is all it takes

Hi Paulee, that looks to be wrong because when I took my Direct Talker deal out I had £100 tracked. However, I took my deal out before the new deal had appeared. Are you sure you clicked on the right option because on Quidco now there is a link for the £70 and a link for the £100.
