I remember at LB in their similar task you'd get around 25-30 scored per month. With ABH you're looking at around 30 a week with instant feedback and anywhere between 0-30 with delayed feedback.
Sorry to hear, looking at the metrics it's nearly a case of last man standing in W5. For some reason they want to audit the roster out of existence, never clicked that damn audit button so much, makes you feel like a garbage rater. Good luck with the SLR!
Daily?! Wow... I didn't realise it was that much... What happens if you score below the threshold? Are you removed or is it like LB where you are given some time to improve?0 -
If your talking about Appen crowdsourcing then negative feedback is quite rare unless your going out of your way to do a bad job. I've had a crowdsourcing account for over a year with Appen, it's quite easy to maintain a good score as most of the work isn't difficult. It's just mundane and can be considered among the most boring of jobs! I myself set myself a goal of achieving at least 1 hour of crowdsourcing per day, so I have a nice little payout at the end.
Ofcourse, that's got nothing to do with Web Evaluation / Content Judges etc, which is a lot harder...0 -

I worked with LB few years ago and was pretty surprised when it came to ABH training that they pin you down in the middle ratings, feels like throwing darts - especially when it comes to informational queries.
Hard to get in and easy to get kicked is a good way of putting it. If you are in the UK i'd advise against it. Probably the most challenging it's been in the 2 years i've been here, starting to really hate it now.
I often wonder if ABH will ever shake things up and actually change their metric system. It's terrible. It's demoralising. It's repugnant, and should be changed. Imagine we were all working in an office instead of over the Internet. I gurantee within a mere few days there would be a staff meeting about how to improve the metric rating system.
But, that's unlikely to ever happen because we're just pixels on a screen, not in an office. The problem with the staff at Appen - And I say this with extensive observational experience - is that most of them are conformists and yes-men. They just want to keep their jobs, and aren't really out to help us (evident enough by the fake reviews at sites like Glassdoor). From a person to person perspective, they are a nice bunch, and I would gladly share a drink with them, BUT, I don't believe they are really on top of their game when it comes to the human resources department AND I feel Appen would come under scrutiny IF judges weren't just a list of e-mail addresses, but actual faces.
One might even go as far as saying that Appen is quite xenophobic when it comes to the treatment of workers. The problem is, working at Appen as a web evaluator, I felt more like a cleaning lady than an actual part of Appen. I didn't feel like I was part of anything, just someone pushing buttons, and if I slipped up, I'd be fired. I guess that's more to do with the nature of independent contracting, but my father is contracted with a company too - in an actual office ofcourse, but he's actually part of a team and it's hard to distinguish between him and a regular employee because he is valued there. But that's it, we aren't 'regular workers' at Appen, we're disposable machine parts to be replaced when broken and not valued at all, by anyone within their circle of conformists. Beware the smiley face that is Appen. Like a good car salesman, they'll woo you into a good deal until you realise at the end of the day, it wasn't such a good deal afterall.0 -

No i'm talking about the web judging roles. I've only just managed to set up my crowdsourcing account and haven't had a chance to do any crowdscourcing work yet as i'm in the qualification for web evaluation. I understand that i can make more as a web evaluator so i'm going to concentrate on that first and then maybe do some crowdsourcing work as and when i can fit it in.0 -
Terminated.
Really annoyed.
DART says I had 15 Audits over the last week - yet UHRS shows 9. The % between the 2 also didn't match, as such, I think DART was wrong.
Emailed asking about this - no reply. Just now been sent the termination email.
To be honest, as upset as I am, I will not miss Appen. Shoddy and incompetent in my view.0 -
Sorry to hear that.. Can't help but think the client is soon going to wonder why the work output is so low and why the quality metrics have taken such a dive, and ABH may regret being so rigid and blind as to get rid of experienced workers.0

That's bad news.
Good luck with LF if you decide to go with them, anyway.. Really wish I could do the same.
Not sure what's going on re LB, as they haven't replied to my email saying I no longer want to do the exam. Can't exactly think about applying for anything else until I'm officially out of the process, so it looks like I'm back to sitting around doing nothing for the next few days at least..0 -
Thanks MallRat. I might wait a couple of weeks, the booklets full of guidelines fill me with dread!
Why did you decide against taking the test with LB in the end?
Also, regarding LF is the problem that they recognise your IP? If so, have you tried resetting your wireless router, it often results in the address changing...0
