It won`t apply to RA as I suggested in a previous post.

Ryanair sticks two fingers up at order to slash card fees claiming their £6 per ticket charge is an 'administration fee'

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2078000/RyanAir-sticks-fingers-order-slash-credit-debit-card-fees.html

An 'administration fee' that just happens to apply when you pay with a Debit or Credit Card. I really can't see them getting away with it. They always come out talking tough (usually a load of BS too), like they did with the ash cloud scenario, then soon backed down.

If it really is a website 'administration fee' then it should apply equally to all forms of payment, which in turn should be included in the headline price. To be honest I really can't take some of their official statements seriously, they make themselves look complete tools.

It would be a complete joke if the OFT don't cover off such a simple get-out, every company would then call it an 'administration fee'.

There was a time (up to 10 years ago) when you could book RA through a travel agent!

I last travelled to Rome a few years ago when all the troubles with the liquids. I had a little suitcase, a sleeping bag and RA checked the case in FOR FREE!!

The card charges, bag biz, self check in blah blah would put me off now!!
  • Can anyone explain to me why fees are now charged for using these cards (I have a FairFX pre-paid mastercard) when booking flights originating in the UK and Italy? I have family and property in Italy, and have used Ryanair regularly for years, and have not been stung with this exception before. Why are UK and Italy singled out for this unfair treatment?

Because the government here are dopes and allow them to get away with it, and apparently will continue to do so for another 12 months.

And because dopey websites like MSE are as guilty of misleading consumers as Ryanair when they post dumb headlines under today's email and latest tips like:

    TipPlane.gifCHEAP FLIGHT SALES ALERT:
Airline: Ryanair Price: £9.99 Ends: Tues 3 Jan

Must be the deal they've done to keep the MSE Flightchecker stocked with Ryanair flight prices ... have MSE no shame?

MSE - well?? You do realise it is currently impossible to buy any flight from Ryanair simply for a fare of £9.99 ? It will cost at least £15.99.

Those are especially harsh comments about this website. This site saves people millions of pounds a year, I'm sure.

I guess that you are entitled to your views. But really, I do consider those remarks to be a step too far.

In what respects harsh and in what respects a step too far?

It could be said that Ryanair has saved consumers millions of pounds, but does that absolve them from the not so pretty stuff we complain about?

It looks to me like MSE is currently acting as Ryanair's agent (paid or unpaid) in promoting an incorrect price which looks like a misleading action under CPR Regulation 5 to me.

Is that not so or have I interpreted CPRs incorrectly?
  • I've just been on Ryanair website to check on pricesfor next Spring
What's with the stupid typing in of letters etc to get in?

One of the words is clearly legible but the other is a joke, and I'm sure was in Chinese characters
I couldn't decipher it and so opted for the voice, this was even worse with a lot of mumbling in the background.

I eventually managed to access the prices/dates but when I tried to change dates it reverted back to the word site again.

Do they even want you to fly with them:eek:
