I can understand how annoying it is when someone obstructs access to your drive, I have quite often where people park infront of the drive to go to the local doctors for an appointment - this is slightly different though as appointments over-run and they can be parked there for some time. I always thought that you shouldn't block someones access - at least that is what I was taught. (I park up the road and move later - yes I have a little moan too!)
I often also have to manouvre (sp?) around a bus which always parks opposite a junction, it's annoying but they can't park anywhere else so you accept that you need to drive around it.
Back to the OP's post, I think the woman could have handled it differently, yes she may have had a bad day but that is no excuse for bad manners. If she has a problem with how the bus is pulling up then she should either speak with the driver and ask if he could perhaps move up a few inches so she can get past or speak with the OP and ask her to speak to the driver.
Ranting and raving gets no-one anywhere and what about her being so inconsiderate at 07.45 honking on the horn - some people might still be in bed!0 -
Oooops...I expect that the OP posted expecting everybody to agree with her, that the needs of her disabled daughter trump those of the neighbour.
Personally, whilst I certainly don't buy into this idea that the needs of the disabled trump everyone else's needs (just like I don't believe that mums with young children or the elderley should necessarily be treated like royalty), it seems pretty low for a woman to shout and scream at the driver of a bus for disabled kids..
If she encountered difficulties accessing her driveway every day then I could maybe sympathise (though I still wouldn't advocate effing and blinding to resolve it), but if, as the OP suggests, the issue occurs infrequently when the end of the neighbour's shift coincides with the time that the OP's daughter is collected, you would hope that a little human kindness might prevail...
I certainly don't believe that working nights, having a bad day at work, or being depressed justifies screaming at strangers and being rude and obnoxious.0 -
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTransport/Highwaycode/DG_069860
section 243 - driver may well be breaking 2 points under that - just to clarify it if highway code says MUST NOT means illegal.
Good job it doesn't say "Must Not" then.
however screaming and shouting at a bus load of kids could cause fear and alarm.
Which could be illegal, possibly a breach of the peace. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

What are the odds that by the time the OP comes back, the neighbour has been round and apologised?0

If the OP's original post is anything to go by - more chance of winning the lotto!0 -

but this is the internet!
While everybody is discussing somebody elses problems, back in real life they've always made up over tea and cake and embarked on a wild lesbian affair!!!
trust me on this i've seen it a thousand times before, apart from the cake because that's a bit far fetched.0 -

That's TV soaps you're thinking of, not actual reality

Don't you have a disabled bay outside your house OP? That would solve the problem.0
