You dont need to go wireless as the router has 4 ethernet ports or buy one of these to go wireless http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=192333 and you need to put the filters in each socket (you get 3 filters) that has a phone plugged in and of course where the router is going to be plugged in.0

can u receive quidco cashback even if you are already a sky tv customer?
Thanks0 -
Rcently cancelled Sky TV and had call tother day from Sky offering discounts to stay, one was Sky Broadband, just say the word and it would be up and running in no time. "Are you sure about that?" I asked the lady, when I checked with Sky recently Broadband was not yet available in my area. She tootled off to check and lo and behold she came back and said I was correct..so..no Sky Broadband for me. Unfortunately none of the other wonderful free evening and weekend calls/6 month @ £13.00 etc could tempt me to stay with Sky, fishing season has started, no time to watch TV. ;-)
My point is... May be worthwhile making sure Sky can supply your area with Broadband before accepting.Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and agressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit0 -
I am interested in the Sky mid package for broadband for £5 a month as I already have the sky base tv package. It works out considerably cheaper than my Claranet £17.99 a month.
I have 2 questions. After checking the Sky site it says a router is provided by them with their info on. Does this mean I cannot use my own router which I have recently bought?
Secondly has anyone used Sky BB on Windows 98SE as it states minimum requirement is 2000?0 -
Hi
Don't know about 98 but it is possible to use your own router but you have to extract your user details from it which are hidden/encrypted.
Try this site for more info

Good luck

i got skyBB. U probably can. They never provided me with a username and password. I Use their router and thats it. Its a Netgear router that has a sky logo on it. Doesn't seem it lets me change options if I was decide to migrate to another ISP. Then again, you get free routers from ISPs anyway.
I sold my old belkins router.0 -
You can get lots of useful information including how to get into the router's admin pages here.

It will be what they describe as "Connect" at £17.99 or apparently £5 if your exchange is within 6 months of being changed over.0 -
I ordered broadband mid December  however I was only connected yesterday to the Mid package. I got a voicemail from BT telling me I was online. Prior to connection I asked Sky to tell me the maximum bandwidth I could get on my line and they just told me the official line which was between 2Mb and 8Mb. Sky support have never been helpful with questions.
I've checked the Netgear router and it says 2048Kb. I'm probably better off with the Base package at this rate. However when I considered cancelling my order due to the long wait before I held back because they told me that it takes 28 days just to cancel and only after that you can place another order.
Has anybody else bought the Mid package and only received a 2Mb speed?0
