    hello everyone,

not having a happy day here. DS school changed the optional friday morning before lessons start exercise class into a compulsory one but without informing parents:confused:

First I know about it is when I drop DS at an empty classroom and the TA informs him that everyone has to do it. Result tears from him cos he didn't want to do it and me left yet again in an impossible situation  .

So I dropped him off at the hall for his exercise class with him crying his eyes out. I'm all for the exercise class but at least if I'd been told that it was changing to compulsory I'd have been prepared and could have told him. I don't think dropping him off crying is a good start to his school day!

TBH I am now so sick of this year at school, his teacher and everything else that if it was a Primary and we were facing 4 more years I'd now be looking about for a different school. The thing keeping me going is we only have till July as then he changes to a Junior school :j

The house has gone to pot also. DH was away last night which I always find difficult. The kids have got dentist this PM too, fingers crossed they don't need treatment and the day ends as bad as it started.
  • Csarina - you might like to take a look at this website. There's info on *fair rents* and what you can do. I may be able to take a look for more info when I'm back at w***. PM me if you need anything.

Mushy peas - I'm a money adviser for CAB - if you or your friend need some confidental advice, don't hesitate to PM me.

DH came back from his early trip out with a beautiful pheasant :j Needs to hang for a few days, then he'll make a casserole with a couple of pigeon.

We cycled up to the farm shop and got a load of fruit and veg. Bought fennel for a fennel and potato gratin with tonight's salmon. Was lovely cycling out, but I then noticed the steam from the power station was horizontal   Needless to say, it was harder work on the way back :D

DS is making *pizza whirls* in food tech today. He weighed his ingredients this morning, and I'm pleased to report that there were small areas of the kitchn not covered in flour and bits of grated cheese :T

Having cheese on toast with a jar of damson chutney. New recipe and this is the first jar (it's been maturing in the pantry since October). Delicious!

    Welcome to boysmum3!

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Mix!

Spendless, know exactly how you feel! My DS had a great teacher in Y5, came on leaps and bounds. Got into Y6 with a new teacher who wanted all the children to be the same, DS became bored (he's done a lot of the Y6 work in Y5) started rolling his eyes, not listening, being mildly disruptive. Had several meetings with the teacher and the head to no avail. He now loves high school!

Hugs to all of you! Penny. x

Hello everyone, just a quickie again (I seem to be having a lot of those at the minute :o)

Hope everyone is well, my 2 are off school again today (TT days) so not got much 'spare time' as I have a mountain to do and them to keep entertained, DP going to work soon but has took DS2 out to the model shop so I have snook on here to say hello :D Parents coming over today as it's DS2s birthday tomorrow. Just managed to get a kenwood slicer off eBay (made an offer on BIN item listed yesterday) so I'll be happy when that arrives as my breads like doorstops! I'll try and catch up tonight when they are sleeping ;) but I also must look throught the OU stuff that arrived on Wednesday, I've opened it and that is about all :o keep forgetting it's there so have put it where I can see it. Need to try and get childcare for the monthly tutorials aswell, nightmare! I rang tutor to discuss this and he was shocked that I don't have anyone who looks after the children regularly for me, before I registered they said tutorials were day time!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • seroxat-chick - I know it's really hard but just try to keep the upper hand (which it sounds like you did). My own mother told me the night before the wedding that I was making the worst mistake of my life. Don't think she liked the fact that I told DH and our first dance was changed to "mama told me not to come!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mushy - Not sure what to say as everyone has already said it all. All you can do is be there and hope that is enough. A friend tried to "check out" a couple of times during the past few years and I still worry each and every day about him.

HariboJunkie - your comments and thoughts are just as important. It's seeing a glimpse into other peoples lives that makes this thread so special and supportive no matter what you have to say :D

Oh my hands are killing, just scrubbed the kitchen floor AT LAST, it thoses awful council stick on tiles that no matter what you do they never look clean.
The only way i can get them to look half was clean is by scrubbing each tile with a green scower (spel?) and then buffing dry!! But hey all 23ft of kitchen floor looks half way ok now, until the boys get back from footy match tommorow!!

Havent even touched upstairs yet! Beds not made or anything, im just having a coffee then will do a quick tidy up there.

Keep smiling everyone whos having a bad day.

    Hi everyone!
Not read through yet but hugs to those who need them.
Busyish day today...have got the washing done and the linen and towels changed. Oh and the joy of a trip to Mr T's follows on this evening.
I am currently sat here eating my HM bread and have just rung OH because it tastes most odd. It transpires that he's had a senior moment and put the small person's Zipvit [very high omega 3 fish oil] in it by mistake instead of sunflower oil. Hmmm interesting flavour and not to be recommended although no doubt it will do me the power of good:rotfl: :rotfl:
Not much planned for this weekend as OH has a show in London to do so small person and I will be carless. Think I shall pop in to see my parents for coffee and take the small person down town to spend his pocket money thriftily in all the charity shops. Also think I will christen my muffin tray with the banana recipe I picked up from the board this week [thanks Earthmother] as my friend made blueberry ones last night when I was round there and they were deleesh!!
Have a good moneysaving few days!
